I dun flash headlight, I dun horn other people(in fact I always forget to horn when I should use it) and I do not speed on highway anymore. In fact I engage my merc's speed limiter to 10km/h above the speed limit allowin for the fact that car manufacturers set their speeds to read 10 mph faster than the actual car speed.

I think your observation is a very unfair one. What about those in their 2os n 30s who drive Korean cars but do up until very boyracer and go around speeding and revving their engines at other people?

Maybe of the 2 cars to choose from, the merc is more comfy and more survivalable in an accident leh? My parents prefer me to drive the Merc (as opposed to the Airtrek Turbo R) because they think I stand a much better chance of escaping unscathed in an accident. I don't think that when people choose a car to drive, they're purely looking to show off wealth.

i dun think anyone is saying she must be killed in such a way, but the fact here is, nobody deliberately wanted to detract from the normal test route. Meaning in this case, I don't think ANYONE is to be blamed for detracting from the test route because, normally it is the responsibility of the sales rep to know, but since she is from another branch, and is unfamiliar with the area, their not being on the test route is really just a quirk of fate. Nobody is to be blamed and thats what philia is trying to put across. Nobody is trying to blame her either.

ok none taken. anyways im trying to point out that some people here trying to judge the driver of the MX5 are being rather pointless by judging him from the fact that he drives a white Merc. I mean, if u have the money, whether thru hard work or because u're lucky to have wealthy parents, why shouldn't u be allowed to get the car u want just because u are young? Just because others will eye red?
I only frown on those people who get the car they want, and then flaunt it by coming here to start threads like "My father buying me EVO9" etc.

Currently, there is no other sources more reliable than SpoonX's. Moreover, he already stated that he gathered a subtantial amount of information from the eye-witnesses and the driver himself. So what we can only do right now is to side with his story but not necessarily believing his account and details.

I am just bringing up some of the points that are supposed to be taken into consideration as well.

I do believe what spoonX knows is not just from the driver alone. As i mentioned in the other thread dealing with this incident,

"In a fatal accident like this, all evidence are essential. The investigators would have gotten to the scene fairly quickly because of the perishable nature of the evidence, and because they have to gather all their evidence quickly in order for traffic flow to resume. I would believe that he stood by and listened in while the investigators interviewed the eye witnesses, and very possibly spoke to the investigators a bit, and asked them about their prelimanary opinions of the accident. He would thus have some information which, regardless of whether he was 'somebody' or not, would have."

most of the time, professional IOs won't reveal much of the info to members of public & being a fren of the driver is no expection. i'm not doubting SpoonX's creditability but the point is driver is his close fren. u can't deny the fact that he could be alittle biased in defending him. furthermore, what SpoonX knows is what the driver choosed to tell him. i have come across countless of traffic offenders who protest their innocent even when caught red-handed. so i won't be suprise if the chap choosed not to reveal the whole account of what has happened.

yes, at this point benefits of doubt belong to the driver as he is the only one who survived from the crash. but not to the extend of "siding" his story as mentioned by another bro here. that's simply ridicules!

How can his sources be reliable? Can he take the witness stand? If not, then please don't make his words testament. Let the courts judge then we'll see.

Do you know SpoonX personally? How do you know that hes for real? And just because he is the "only" source doesn't make his words count. If you want to be neutral, then please wait till the case is heard. Until then, please don't tell others to keep straight when you're obviously swaying.

I think what philia is saying is just to analyse the incident from another point of view, such as

"What if the driver is not at fault?" "What if the accident was caused my circumstancial conditions" etc etc.

If you notice most of the time the forumnites are just blantantly scolding the driver, hang him, what tie him to follow thru wall and let Stig drive past him etc etc, I think he is just merely trying to even out the incident by giving an alternative course of happenings.. Why not just respect him by reading his posts, and if you find anything to attack, attack the post, attack the points, but don't attack the poster.. No offense k..

Exactly. My concerns were aroused when SpoonX said:

1- He had alot of confidential info which cannot be revealed.

2 - His account was from interviewing passer-bys, the other drivers involved in the accident and the "accused" himself.

So is SpoonX some official investigator? If so, I withdraw my concerns on his validity. Otherwise, all his postings are baseless just like each and everyone here, yes, including myself. All we're doing is assuming. Don't make your words the Bible while shooting down everyone else's as rubbish.

I'm afriad you have to then...... I know him personally and being involved with the deseased and "accused", he is taken off the investigation. But that doesn't mean he will not know the full details, surveys, charges agains't the 'accused' and so on.

But of course then again, you have also the right to doubt my validity.

the reason why they have to sound their horn or flash their lights is because there are plenty of road hoggers in singapore who have the habit of not using rear view mirror and not giving way to faster cars. I think this has got something to do with EGO.
