as for the defender, the saf's ones are non-turbo as compared to the newer ones..

Cost is one thing but then it has no reputation whatsoever in off roading and u can tell that its a soft roader more than a hardcore off roader...and spare parts for the defender are endless as its the workhorse of many organisations worldwide

Totally agreed ... in fact if you take a serious look at it spec of rexton(ssanyong)... its departure and approach angle are not that ideal for hardcore off roader and with full load of army's equipment in it, can't imagine how this rexton going to climb and do the X-country ... but sad to say that the policy makers probably dun see tis point...i still think costing is their priority...

one more point... even for SCDF who had been using Isuzu SUV previously had changed to LR Defender 110 (saw one on the road recently) ...and spf had been using them for so long always, batch after batch...

Anyway, to the original thread starter, if u want to buy one, i think one it's not cheap, even if u register the 3dr one with G-plate. Think is around 60k (if i'm not wrong) compared to around $30k for a kangoo, for instance. And the diesel is very powerful too...Torque of 300Nm at 1950 rpm

hes talking abt Brand new ones la.....and If u maintain yr engine and drivetain properly there will not be any loss of power
