Truthfully speaking, both the parents & the education system & the society at a whole are at fault. Our society, or I should say the Asian societies are too conservative. Conservative is ok, we shouldn't be conservative for the sake of being conservative. This is the drawback of being conservative, in the end we got is a girl who was pregnant at 9 yrs old.

I urge every parents who is reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not withhold any information if ur children ask about any questions related to sexuality. Being conservative & withholding the information won't help. ALL OF U MUST BE OPEN ABOUT QUESTIONS RELATING TO SEXUALITY!!! PLEASE DO NOT RELATE SEX WITH PORN, IT IS NOTHING WRONG TO KNOW ABOUT OUR OWN BODIES!!! And I also recommend that formal sex education must start right from the nursery or the kindergarten.

x2 singaporean are still very conservative as compared to other western countries.

I also think that the fault lies in the parents and sec eduation in school.

Sex education in school is really not up to the standard..

Imagine how things would be like if she had kept the baby. If no one told the child he'd just believe that his mum is his sister instead.

And can you just picture those parent teacher meetings? Imagine if they're both studying in the same school, with the son in the primary section & the mum in the secondary section. Then the teacher request to see his parents, so the mum comes down to see the teacher, and he asks "Oh you two are siblings? I taught your sister a few years ago", and then the son tells him "No she's not my sister, she's my mother." Laughing

Formal sex education is to help complement the parents, & what we really need is REAL sex education, not just biology-like lessons to learn all those reproductive systems.
