The after-school staple we screen on TV - jap anime, american
movies - all depict rather mature relationships between
pre-pubescent kids. It shouldn't come as a surprise when kids start
emulating what they see on TV.
IMHO, we, as adults, ought to be aware of the changes in society
and guide our children accordingly. However this is greatly
hampered and complicated by our Singapore work culture, where both
parents are usually working to support the family largely due to
government policies driving costs of living/education sky
high.
It's a sad cycle.
