Look no further, just across the causeway, where the army force
there is currently busy looking for a NG SAM system. Aster30 did
attend the tender but failed to be shortlisted. Nevertheless, the
left finalists all have a range no more than 50kms spell, then
there was news RMN also is looking at possible ESSM acquisition, a
ship theater defending missile boosting a range without
exclusively, 50kms.
How about other tradition major power? Indonesia & Thailand are
not in the news for NG SAMs acquisition, so does the SAF, still
comfortably with I-Hawk, with regard to the current situation.
Elsewhere, Vietnam & Myanmar are usually not in the orbit of
influence.
Therere many potent NG SAMs systems worldwide, IMO, and price
should not be an issue for SEA countries to procure such advanced,
long range SAMs, considering how cheap those systems compared to
also potent fighter jets now flying everywhere in the same region,
Politicians just want to a good excuse to take the 1st step.
