If You Could Own Just One Weapon

Bontakun SG

That was the single most ridiculous, powerful 'realistic' weapon. How 'realistic' it is is questionable but it definately beats Unicron or Galactus or Apocalyspe or Doomsday or Squirrel Girl.

Laughing

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

The level of destruction caused by the Sun Crusher (supernova), is millions of times more powerful then anything Galactus or Unicron and all those other villians are capable of.

So yes, it's almost a deus ex machina.

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

How so? Space Marine armor is powered armour just like Halo, and they use projectile weapons too, though with bigger and faster rounds. Jump packs and all aren't too "fantasy". Plus, the space marines themselves have some degree of genetic engineering like Halo.

For the Emperor! Burn the Heretic!

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

The Galaxy gun is a far more powerful weapon, though it doesn't destroy stars.

Think Galactic spanning ICBM.

maggot SG

Not the 9th dimensional bomb? Confused Can blow up a galaxies of stars Surprised

wonderamazement SG

Say i also wouldn't mind owning a mech in Armoured core 4... Laughing

MEC Gauss MiniGun

The MEC Gauss is of Chinese design. It uses multiple electromagnetic fields to propel over 90,000 2mm steel rounds per minute to relativistic velocities.
Its range, accuracy and stopping power is almost unparalleled.

And what's better is,

Having TWO Wakizashi's! Very Happy

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

I always wondered how they account for the recoil generated by that thing... and how does the steel round survive the frictional heating from air by being accelerated to relativistic velocities without turning into plasma?

Oh well, fallout tatics was cool.

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

No way man, the payload of the Galaxy gun was far less then the destructive effects of the Sun Crusher supernova effect... though of course the Sun Crusher "cheats" by using a star as it's weapon.

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

Actually no. A supernova doesn't destroy an entire system outright. You might be able to have some of the outlying planets surviving.

The shockwave will irradiate the surface definitely.

BUt in any case, a Galaxy Gun is more tactically useful than the Sun Crusher.

maggot SG

2mm steel rounds can pierce what?

Unless for hitting humans Mr. Green

By the way a lot of other people are researching into gauss because of it's recoilless or there's no recoil at all Twisted Evil

wizwizard SG

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

guard_01 SG

for me....i cant find the pic...but never mind.

a 1X metal gear rex, from the game metal gear solid 1, armed fully..see if malaysia will come and threaten us again by cutting off our water....

but i prefer the modified lightsaber for longer range combat. good for pawning the police fast before they can use their baton...hehe... Twisted Evil

M72 Gauss Rifle. Very Happy

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

There will still be recoil if you accelerate the projectile with a very short impulse, and it has to be settled in some way or another... basic physics. The railgun in Eraser would not be possible without some way of accounting for the physics of firing projectiles at near-light speed... Arnie would simply be knocked off his feet everytime he fired a round.

The appeal of gauss weapons is that they can accelerate projectiles beyond the limit of chemical propellants, not because they are "recoiless"... which they are not.

caleb_chiang SG

For what purpose???

If for war...

Hmm... ion cannon seems nice...

but charging time too long... Laughing

Defense...

too much C&C game play...

maggot SG

They "shot" out the projectiles with electric currents...you should go see some live videos of how they are being fired Mr. Green and observed whether there's any recoil Surprised

Using the Lorentz Force Law to fire them Cool

There's a weapon at the first page of this thread Laughing
