Xephone_xenon SG My teacher told us that we are going to have a hands on course thing on june. And the school is going to help us pay $200 for it. Its complusory, and we will have to pay back the balance of $200 if we fail to turn up. Is my teacher bullshitting? Why should i pay the sch cash for not going to something that i did not sign up for? Or if the teacher really force me to pay somehow. Can i write a letter to MOE or something? Will i be able to win this "case" thing if i dont turn up?
freedom4ever SG i think all school are doing this right? last time i also got to go for some computer courses because the school already paid the courses. so, if u are not going means that you are wasting their money.
Y_Shun SG No rah....its becuz the school sponsor you all the $$ for it, then I believe they[the course company] count it by per head. Then if you people dun go, waste the $$. Its either you get your friends to go(which I dun think so, cuz I believe all will be going)...
Xephone_xenon SG They can waste for all i care. I just dont want to go for dumb stuff. QUESTION AGAIN. What are the chances of me winning this case if i write to MOE.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Whether the course is from a private institution or by MOE, if you fail to turn up, you have to pay back. Writing to MOE doesn't solve, because you are the one who is wrong first. Pay and don't turn up for course, you think you are the CEO?
kopiosatu SG i'm sorry but i'll have to correct u on a little info. this little boy isn't paying for it. we, the taxpayers are. and this boy feels like he's forced to go. well, the taxpayers are forced to pay for his/her education. so i say, equal treatment to all. he jolly well go for something he doesn't have to fork out a single cent for.
Xephone_xenon SG But still i consider it a waste of time. Its like a 20+ hours course. I could complete 1 short rpg in that time. Or just go NLB borrow some good books. The worse of all. The course is like 2months away from my N level. Why do i have to turn up when i can use it to do something like more "constructive"
kopiosatu SG completing 1 short RPG is constructive? borrowing good books, please define good books. define your constructive events. whatever a 16yr old does during his/her free time is seldom constructive. are you going for courses to upgrade yourself for your future? or are you going to hang around, stare at the screen playing DOTA? or spend days 20+hrs on a short RPG? are you going to help the sick and needy? are you going to read books on self improvement? so you tell me, what is constructive to you
dranoel maxwell SG well you just gonna suck it up and go i believe the school have had thought about the usefulness of the course before organising it for the student to go…
pierre^^ SG acually hor if u dun go the sch wun make u pay one la it is just to scare u oni keke trust pierre and btw dun write any stupid letters more harm than gd the moe will tink u are a dork and the sch will purposely aim u trust pierre again
Xephone_xenon SG Err i read self improvment books like everytime? lol. I go NLB and borrow some from time to time. And i just bought this book named "rules of life" I gonna use the time to do some N level revision work too. The course is like some nooby computer, design course which only covers on the basic which i prolly know already. Which i am totally not interested. Considering what i say is true. Option 1 is a far more better option If you dont trust me then nvm. What more can i say.
kopiosatu SG ahhh... i see. well i think you need to learn more in life. because i seriously think that you're just 'reading' yet not understanding and applying. arrogance is not a very good trait to live with. considering your age you consider yourself well learned already? why would you define it as 'nooby'? or something you 'prolly' know? you can continue 'reading' your self improvement books. and skip the course if you want. at most, a letter will be sent to your parents. you can write to MOE after that.
Y_Shun SG i think TS shld go lo...some schs are like damn budget...have so many little marni...maybe ur sch is oso 1, and ur sch so gud to take some money for u all, yet u all dun appreciate... haixzxadzx whats the course abt anyway?
kopiosatu SG haha, a common trait among youngsters nowadays. failure to understand, selective amnesia. well, quoting you, "what more can i say." you can keep hanging on here hoping to get a reply that you want to hear.
