Can you enlighten me on how does going to this course thing makes me apply the things i have learned from books?
Its like blindly following something which i dont like right?

after a while you'll realise that reasoning won't work with them and just let them be.

Sometimes some stuffs may seems easy but there will always be stuffs that you won't know and besides computer course aint cheap be glad that the school sponser it for you. You never know it will come in handy in the near future when you go out to work.

Sometimes in life you can't do stuffs going according to yourself. And you can't do things going according to your interests because life's not gonna let you have your way, that's the truth of it. You will understand what i mean when you experience it yourself

oh. i had same experience, i got threatened that if i dont go i have to pay the amount in full...

In the end i really did not turn up..

It's quite amusing to see such know-it-all attitudes from youngsters today.

Most of my fellow photographers who are professsionals and have been shooting for a decade or more, dare not call themselves masters of the digital darkroom.

You learn different things in different settings. The school has been quite kind to pay for you to attend such courses. What gives you the right to deem this course "nooby" when you have not even applied such skills in a profession or a paid job/assignment.

Be humble and realise that you, in Singapore, are more privileged than the rest of South East Asia, where other people your age are probably going door to door selling pickled sea bass etc.

And therein lies the cause of eroding school authority. There has to be a line drawn between whimscal complaints by parents, and whistle-blowing in the case of teachers abusing their students.

By enrolling in a national school, there are limits to student choice and autonomy. If you want more choices/autonomy, go apply to enroll in an independant school or autonomous school.

Yes yes. But they shouldnt pay for the course fee and then make u go, when you didnt even sign up for it. Sorry but i dont believe in that, why should you attend something you have totally no interest in? Simply, if I dont turn up for the course, I dont see why should my parents pay for it as well.

If I were you, I'll go.

Firstly, it saves the trouble of parents explaining something that you've done.

Secondly, you can learn something with guidance, which is free somemore.

Thirdly, you can gather with your friends to talkcock sing song, which is much better than playing rpg and surfing porn.

BUT, if you really don't want to go, just call your parents to call the school, if the teacher threaten you to cough out the money.

Anyway, it's up to you to learn something new or just at home playing rpg.

The main reason of why i dun wan to go is not because the course is nooby. Its just that the course simply dont interest me. I am not interested in design. If there is a course on making barbie dolls clothes will you go?

I am just angry at the school policy. Seriously the school paying for us means nth.

the school pay for you means nothing? if i have this type of student, i rather donate to the children of africa.

and you said its 2 months before N'levels, maybe by then you keep revising until very stress, and this course can help you de-stress? you never know...

Schooling is about perserverance. Apart from getting education, it also trains you to perservere.

As you grow up and eventually join the work force, there are always things you are interested in and things you are not but it doesn't mean that you can quit the job when you are given works that don't interest you. If that's the mentality you have i.e. expecting to only do things that interest you, I think you will have a hard time finding a "right" job and be happy in the future.
