120 sqn is the apache there's no need for replacement for helicopters at the time being because the pumas are almost full strength.

How u got 16 CH-47 ????? 6 CH-47D 1st order, 3 from Thailand n another 6 CH-47SD 2nd order all converted 2 SD total only 15 where e extral 1 come from????? Shocked

I was thinking, could the EC155 be used? I know that so far, EC155 have only been used in civillian ops. But there chance for it to enter the military ??

Countries like South Korea, SIngapore & Indonesia wants to order more of them after seeing how it perform during the crisis.

There must be a reason for that...

True, you only see Chinook unloading supplies to refugee on TV but not other heli like Superpuma...

i'm not proud but i do see things which people don't get to see. so there is a reason for my negative feelings towards that aircraft that people don't understand.

Six CH-47D initially ordered in 1994, followed by 6 more (plus an option on a further 4) improved CH-47SDs in 1997. All aircraft are new-built. They were initially based near Dallas and crews visit the UK for simulator training. RSAF CH-47SDs have twin Honeywell T55-FA-714A engines, increased capacity external fuel tanks and a glass cockpit. Used for both heavy lift and special purposes.

A proposal to acquire 3 surplus Chinooks from the Royal Thai AF never went through.
