I presume you're excerising reguarly, use this equation to find
out your protein intake.
"your weight in pounds" / 2.2 pounds per kilogram= ????kg
lower end of protein intake: ????kg * 1.4g/kg= ??g
higher end of protein intake: ????kg * 1.8g/kg= ??g
Always remember to take some carbohydrates with ratio to protein
4:2 or 2:1 after workout within 15mins to 1hour, this will spike
off insulin levels and increase your absortion of protein.
There is no need to take per pound of body weight to per gram of
protein. You will most likely end up with excess protein because
once your muscles incorporate the protein required for repair and
growth. The excess protein will be diverted to urine, converted to
carbs or packed away as fats. And too much protein will stress your
kidney which prevents the kidney from getting rid of the excess
protien properly. Normally if you eat properly you should be able
to meet the daily intake of protein from foods.
Anyway the best protein source doesn't come from supplements but
natural foods which contains the essential amino acids and
nutrients for growth. Supplements should always come second in
bodybuilding unless you're competing which is a different thing
there.
