GetZ 1.6 Automatic

for hyundai, i have shortlisted GETZ and ACCENT.

but my colleague driving GETZ told me not to get it. So my choice is now down to ACCENT. Am waiting for the launch of the NEW ACCENT.

i believe the price for the new accent would be in the range of an elentra(did i get i correctly?) cuz its a 1.6L

Like this your choice becomes log-sided because no-one commented Acent to you. Would be best to check out some hyundai clubs to get a more ranged feedback. For all you know, accent might be worse in that colleagues' eye if he had gotten it.

Care to share what he said about Getz?

She says her Getz is a fuel drinker lah Sad . I have driven the old Accent and found it ok and the handling is just nice for me.

Am waiting for the new accent because i think it comes with a new engine. The next round of new Hyundai (Sonata + Accent) should help them catch up with Jap cars in terms of technology. Not so sure about any version < 1.6 .

Nevertheless, personally, I found Hyundai to be more reliable than other korean cars and given the price tag, there is nothing to complain about. Razz

The only odds is the raising petrol prices...

To be frank, I chosen Accent 1.3 manual too in my first visit to Komoco. It cost 44,444.

But later was brain-wash that If i buy accent now will regret in 5 months time or 7 months time cos the new accent will be out and I will find my newly accent an out of fashion car comparing to the new accent then.

As I am not sure if the COE will continue to dip further I decided to go for the purchase now since I have already waited from 63 k for Getz.

So I choose Getz finally and decided 1.6 instead of 1.3.

I must confess the current hatch-back accent receive a very bad shape-looking from many people I have ask for their comments.

the 1.6L getz is a car with pretty decent power. for its price, its really quite tempting if u're looking for an hatch back. but i think it would be better wif they come wif electric wing mirrors instead of the manual ones.

as for accent, it's a pretty budget type of car. the appearence look outdated but i haf a colleague who drove it for 4 yrs+ and had no problems wif it. he recently changed into a nissan sunny ss though. between the new generation accent & getz, i would still say getz is a better choice. i believe the new accent would probably be in the range of 54-58k.

i drove a 1.3 getz when i was in aust... feel that no power when the car is loaded with 4 ppl or more.

so is it true that 1.6 litre has a better resale value than 1.3 litre in singapore ???

Haven't got it yet, my SE informed me on the july 10. So got to wait patiently.

Generally, I do feel a 1.6 DOHC engine do feel a punch in a mini car compare to a 1.3 SOHC engine.

As for resale value. I am not very sure. Rolling Eyes

But doesn't matter, I love this car. Very Happy

Hi... i love Getz too... but juz feel that the back seats are a bit narrow, i encountered this prob when my parents came to visit me when i was in aust. The leg room is restricted.

Anyway other than that, its a superb car. sporty, and cool, quite easy to park.

i think the 1.3 litre one is aso a DOHC engine.
Only the accent is using a 1.3 litre SOHC.

discovered that 1.6 is aso SOHC (under Specification for GetZ)
Then another main page (Performance), wrote DOHC for 1.6 litre.

I went to to showroom twice, I open the front engine panel and it is a DOHC..
The SE also said it is a DOHC engine too for 1.6 auto.

I will remember to check when I get the car.

Bro, no need to panic... 1.6 Getz is 100% DOHC. By the way, i'm driving a Getz 1.6M... Never regretted changing to this car from my Lancer 1.3M! Powerful, sporty, low depreciation, affordable, good suspension. What more can you ask for? By the way, i'm getting 13-14km/l on my ride. =)

if i'm correct, korean car is much more harder ( heavier ) then jap car, thus FC suffer.

seriously dude forget e idea of buying a GETZ. haf u seen e dashboard and aricon vent? they seriously look like craps and cheapo plastic. and fugly dash design too.. and as they always say "pay peanuts GETZ monkey". try considering getting a car that will match ur status. i am sure getz is way below ur status.

Definitely must learn from you guys how you all differentiate cheap plastic with good plastic. I could never tell, although my bro kept telling me "See See cheap plastic, ......" He was comparing Jazz and City then.

well actually if u aint seen it before then u could take a look at e door handle on the inside of e car. the one then u pull to open e door. it has e same quality as e picanto and it look damn flimsy loh. look like will break when u gif it a hard thug. and if u had done plastic modelling before u will notice it looks like this unpaint plastic. realli an eyesore. i bet e kelisa is a much better choice thou small.
