wonderamazement SG

is the ab0ve le9al in s'p0re?

KumSioJui SG

You mean Night vision devices?

There was an Avimo plant which made it but they closed down years ago, I'm not sure if the leica plant makes it.

But anyway not legal to be sold here, bring in from airport also cannot, but I've seen some department stores in serangoon selling a scaled down version of night hawk and they display it quite openly.

beavan SG

why would u want them for anyways?singapore is so lighted up already, just by wearing and using it u'll prolly spoil them...maybe? Rolling Eyes

sg1960 SG

What you want to use the NVG for ?

Private Night missions in EAST Coast beaches etc Laughing

.

palmerised SG

those that are displayed openly are of shit quality. prolly gen I or II. the ones that you really want are the gen III with the ‘flash-protection’ device or whatever they call it. i believe gen Is & IIs not equipped with those.

RussianPower SG

I’d say, there’s no requirement for military grade NVGs if you want to catch some excitement at east coast or changi or whatever… you just need your regular camcorder (with night function) and and a really bright IR torchlight. It will do as a substitute.

wonderamazement SG

aiyah jz askin 4 fun lah, anyway s0 strict meh? the s'p0re 90vernment s0 darn strict b0ut nv9s

palmerised SG

i know that Sheares regulates the IR filters for my SF lights.

wonderamazement SG

i will n0t fail my missi0n, f0r c0mpr0mise is n0t an 0pti0n, i will v0w t0 rec0rd all activities at beaches ar0nd s'p0re

wonderamazement SG

h0w d0 they d0 that?

zoik SG

II+ and definately III have circuits to shutdown or block out in case of bright lights.

i used level 3 in mil sim's against opfor using some painful surefires, i didnt have a problem.

level 1 is the usual that you can get in the street - surely these level 1's, even old russian level 1's, are legal in singapore?

wonderamazement SG

man all s0 "cheem" that i d0n't 9eddit

palmerised SG

Cause it’s only sold to MIL/LEO.

ditzy SG

Just get a sony. Laughing

zoik SG

MIL/LE would only be using nvg at level 3 and above though..

level 1 is practically nothing - same tech employed in kit thats no better than kids toys these days.

In the US for example level 3 and above are restricted, everything below that is considered okay for public usage.

wonderamazement SG

then what’s level 2?

ditzy SG

Dunno, but what if level 3 was seeing in the dark and thru walls? Laughing

palmerised SG

then that’s x-ray already no? aiyah it’d prolly be restricted and too expensive for any member of the public to own lah..

wonderamazement SG

well s0 is it le9al? i mean f0r level 2?

Rockhound SG

zoik say legal already....
