last friday, by chance someone from this SAP software company called me and the price of this software is simply unbelievable!!!! S$199K!!! Shocked

Somebody told me his company installed FACT for $8K and it is now a white elephant.

MYOB, I cannot say much as I do not have experience with it.

But the real costs and expenses is not the software package but the "IMPLEMENTATION."

That is the real nightmare...

if U are trying to use it on ur own or for a small local company...U can forget about SAP.

The cost of the software...U know already...
Still got the cost of sending ur staff for SAP training and that is not cheap.

the person who told U the white elephant is lucky...at least can become white elephant...I am still hearing curses and swears about how difficult it is to use FACT...the boss is not the one bearing the implementation "cost"...the staff are... Laughing Mr. Green

That is why for very very small companies they are looking for freelance developer to develop customised software using M$ Excel, M$ Access. It is cheap and best of all the features built will be customised to the specific needs of the company.

Usually software off the shelf satisfy most user needs but when come to specific features they lack it. For companies who have specific features needs, they look for customised software at very cheap pricing.

So anyone wan a customised software in M$ Excel or M$ Access? Razz

FACT is good for small company. It is cheap but expensive for the long run. They keep on upgrade, anybody using their latest version? Is it free from bugs? Personally, I think ACCPAC is the best. It is the longest accounting software in the market. Support wise is good because there is wide range of company supporting it. Unlike FACT, only one company support it.

how long will it takes for you to develope it? so it will have all the GL, AR, AP, Bank recon, INventory (including tracking PO and DO), convertion of forex and tracking of forex gain and loss as well as job costing? how about after sales service....and also off the rack products esp ACCPAC are well tested, no hiccups...customised one most likely will face some risk right?

I only have about two months to settle this..... Rolling Eyes
