Johnston SG Don't they look yummy? Pics http://www.mreinfo.com/mre-inside-20.html http://www.mreinfo.com If an army marches on it's stomach, we're sure hungry. Hands up who wants 24 menus to choose from?
greengoblin SG Actually the pasta bolognese is quite tasty. I remember when I went for ATEC that was the only "solid" ratio besides maggi mee that I brought along. Remember the good old days when the only thing edible was glutinous chicken rice
Johnston SG Wah surely your joking? During our field camp nobody wanted to touch the glutinous rice, whether cold or warm. Pasta, however, got eaten up. All of them
greengoblin SG Johnston…my time…glutinous chicken rice was very very good…try salivary rice or plain rice and you know what I mean
Obersturmfuhrer SG When you’re out there tired and hungry, anything taste good. Had that experience after 5 days of near starvation. We all grabbed any combat ration that was available.
beavan SG johnston pls stop impersonating somebody….u are SBSK so why act somebody that has gone thru NS when u haven’t?
Johnston SG so i somehow have the equipment to forge a SAF11B, procure a no .4, have reams of information on the SAF (albeit getting outdated)/ *shrugs* You can believe if the moon is made of cheese. But the fact is i am myself, and i ORDEd this year, so there.
greengoblin SG One thing that SAF have not issued is an equipment that can warm up MRE easily. I have the fortune to try it during my NS days. It looks like a meal bag but with some chemicals it in. You pour water in the bag and place your combat rations in it and it gets heated up real fast. Extremely useful too when you have been walking in a storm for 1 day none stop.
|-|05| SG that's the US army bag....had fun playing with that shit lol over filled the damn thing ahha anyway the MRE shown is the US version.... Oh and you guys shld try the galic chicken with rice......looks like piss....taste like peanuts
ultimax100 SG well whenever an army goes into combat it carries its standard of living with it The MREs do look good, but it's only natural to expect that from the US Army.
greengoblin SG Food is very important to a moving army’s morale… if you can provide hot food at regular intervals… the morale will be up several notches.
Geforce3 SG way better than ours, but ours itsn’t that bad other than the gluitionus rice and hmm the duck rice, the pasta and mutton bryani is power man
bismarck SG i agree. napolean once said " an army matches on its stomachs" and the chemical pack u mentioned ? it is actually to dissolve some salts and cause an exothermic reaction(heat giving off)
sidestep1984 SG well..fresh food is the best....... was reading an issue of Mens Health UK arh.... i wonder..the British Army has a Cooking Unit... They keep saying that there is so much MREs could do....but it should never replace fresh food in the field... Is there any such thing as a unit that does the outfield cooking?they open those big tents and makeshift kitchens and start cooking fresh cooked food for soldiers...?
greengoblin SG I think we used to have army cooks to go out field to cook {heard from a friend of mine who was in div level} correct me if I am wrong. But...wow...if you get fresh food... life is really good man...I think those who went Taiwan or Thailand can agree with me
Devilsmarlin SG haiz.... i juz came from being the attached driver for RCC at SMI.... trainies quite shoik....eating fresh rations for the ,3 days outfield then convert to eating there combat rations.. combat rations are prety good to eat....take it form a slacker aka driver biskuts and water plus mutton pasta or chicken dumpling...yum yum! but i love the pocari sweat and ice teas...
sidestep1984 SG yeah...MREs are good...but u cant always eat MREs...it should never substitute fresh food....from that Mens Health article...the writer wrote abt Desert Storm...where the US Army kept raiding the British cookhouses in the field for food becos they were onli given MREs, preprocessed food....it isnt about hunger really... fresh food affects a soldier psychologically....
