Johnston SG http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,137632,00.html Look! A 20mm cannon! The plane was 7,000 feet in the air when the shots were fired. The gun, an M61-A1 Vulcan cannon (search), is located in the plane's left wing. It fires 2-inch-long bullets that are made of lead and do not explode, said Webster
Poopie-Head SG wats new? they've been doing this to Iraqis isn't it? i guess they juz ran out of schools to shoot at, and couldn't resist it in their own turf.
Johnston SG If the pilot really really really really wanted to score an own goal, he'd have fired live ammo.
John Ching SG It wasn't Iraqi schools but schools in Afghanistan. The pilot in this New Jersy case, is a National Guards man very much the same as the local reservist. Its like the pilot hasn't flown a fighter jets for sometime or the plane model is new to him. Then again, I've learn never to trust an airforce pilot in dropping bombs & doing strafe runs, they always seem to hit the wrong target even with all their high tech stuff. Even their airforce Spec Ops can't seem to do their job right in the fields.
Poopie-Head SG LMAO, juz joking lar see my face ? luckily nobody got hurt, I can't say the same for the many innocent iraqi civilian VICTIMS ... One thing is i keep hearing about how "high tech" the american weapons are, yet such things can happen. makes me wonder...
Johnston SG Show me a arms manufacturer that hasn't managed to have a OOPS or two. Colt has had some gaffes. H&K too. And so on, so forth. Everything is ok. If you put the aircraft there and never touch it, nothing will happen. You need to get in it, fly out, and try to fire. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,136408,00.html It's National Guard too.
Poopie-Head SG strafling and free fall bombs maybe, coz it depends alot on the pilot's skills too but wat about guided bombs?
Johnston SG What if the person designating the target swung the darned thing off target just when it was going to hit. mechanical error? Bomb fin not aligned just so? and so on, so forth. Or error in the bombsight?
John Ching SG Hmm! Its likely the pilots was listening to Briteny Spears< Oops! I did it again! > on another frequency. Either that or his call sign is Bad Karma, Bat-0#, Itchy Fingers, Strafer, etc.
tankee1981 SG Luckily its at night and theres no students inside the school otherwise sure more jialat one!
dRaKe86 SG 25 rounds? Must be strays then... U see, vulcans dish out 6000rpm.. Tat's 100 rounds per min? so 25 rounds wld have to be strays.. But still, if someone is to be popped by juz one round, the results wun be nice eh?
BeEtHoVeN SG eh u mean 100 rounds per sec ? well, 25 rounds mean about 0.25 seconds ... hmmm, ok the pilot must be too trigger-happy, suddenly realised wrong target so stopped ...
