Regarding Amk bto areas coming up, probably:

Amk st 21-perhaps new service from AMK hub interchange wil be introduced n must take time since this road no bus stop shelters n need to be bulit plus various services along ave 3 and ave 1.

As for amk st 51 theres townlink service 265 at st 52 itself plus various services along ave 3 as well. No new service required.

Ok, you also agree that Ang Mo Kio Street 21 should have a new bus service, which by proximity, it is Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 that we are talking about.

Thanks for your comment on Ang Mo Kio Street 51. Considering there's no comment on Ang Mo Kio Street 22/23, I assume you agree with me that that area needs new bus service. Anyway, the road is Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

Looking at the map, the easiest way to connect Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 with Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange is through Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.

The route can be Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.

To get from Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 to Bishan Street 11, which is the alledged looping point of this service, the obvious way is via Upper Thomson Road and Bishan Street 21.

For all we know, this is the route of the upcoming bus service 71. Nonetheless, let's wait for the official press release.

SBS Transit Bus Service 71 is anupcoming trunk route from Yio Chu Kang Interchange and looping at Bishan Street 11, passing through Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Bishan Road. This service will be launched under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP)in the near future.

Route History

Service 71 serves as a residential trunk route connecting the estates of Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan. The route serves residential estates along Yio Chu Kang Rd, Ang Mo Kio Ave 4, Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 and Bishan Rd with enhanced connectivity to transport nodes at Yio Chu Kang and Bishan in addition to existing bus services to Ang Mo Kio.

Yes, the Serangoon-Eunos negotiated contract has 1 new route. After 71, there remains 3 new routes yet to be announced. Serangoon-Eunos may be one of the areas that will get new bus route.

Considering you emphasise on the word "and", and you have been writing about training buses spotted at Hougang, Ubi, Eunos, Bedok and Changi, I assume you probably have insider information about a new bus service coming up at Serangoon-Eunos.

If this is true, it looks like there's going to be a new bus service originating from Serangoon area (probably Hougang Bus Interchange), that passes by Eunos and Bedok to arrive at Changi Airport.

71 route from Mayflower to Bishan is good but what sense does it make to duplicate the route from ave 4 to YCK MRT? Now you have 76, 268 and 71.

My suggestion would be that 268 be modified to ply

AMK Depot > AMK Ave 9 > AMK Ave 6 (YCK MRT, Anderson College) > AMK Ave 5 > AMK Ave 4 and continue on its current route.

This way AMK Ave 5 will get direct bus to closest MRT + reduce duplication with 71/76.

Isn't there 76 already going to Tai Seng? I am okay with the Bishan part, I think the YCK part is pure duplication.

I would have preferred:

Compassvale <> Bishan St 11 (loop) via Sengkang West (north) >> YCK Road >> AMK Ave 6 >> AMK Ave 5 >> AMK Ave 4 ... and continue route to Bishan St 11. This way would have connected AMK Industrial estate to AMK west town + connect AMK/YCK to Sengkang West (north part). Compassvale also has lot of space and the service would have done well bi-directionally.

Either way, can only have 2 more bus services.

Personally, I recommend having 2 new trunks (6 parking lots), because then we can have 1 new express, which uses 2 parking lots.

Also, having 2 new trunks maximises the coverage, as trunk is longer than feeder.

With regards to your recommendations,

Suggestion: 127 is extended to Compassvale via Tampines Road, BKE, Buangkok Dr, Punggol Road, Sengkang East Ave, Rivervale Dr, Sengkang West Way, Compassvale Interchange

I think we can have 164 and 114 at Compassvale, while keep 127 at Tampines Concourse.

164 can be integrated with the Compassvale-Bishan route that was mentioned above, whereas 114 can be integrated with the 127 route extension that you recommended.

Suggest that service 164 from compassvale interchange to marine parade loops and service lta can't provide the bus service to get the area marine parade PARKWAY area DON'T have any of the bus service to get the area compassvale interchange just a suggestion

Parkway Parade got bus service to Sengkang. And it's free. Route B. Sengkang MRT <-> Parkway Parade. Every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday. 11am to 8pm (Sengkang). 12pm to 10pm (Parkway Parade). 1 hour interval. FYI, this is not the place to advertise business. Nonetheless, the point is that there is a bus service.

That's what I observed when I was at Compassvale Bus Interchange recently.

There were 3 buses for 374 parked at the bus bay. I assume that 4 parking lots are required for operations as 1 additional parking lot is required for that 374 bus that may return to the bus interchange before any 1 of the 3 buses leaves the parking bay. Thus, I arrived at the conclusion that 374 needs 4 parking lots.

1 feeder service - 4 parking lots.

Similarly, I was at Tampines Concourse recently. Saw 5 buses using the parking bay, although there are only 3 bus services. Coincidentally, all of them are trunk. A simple division of 5 over 3 indicates that each service has about 1.6 buses using the parking bay, which means that at any one time, there's about 2 buses per trunk service using the parking bay, and about 1 bus per trunk service that is coming in. This means that each trunk service needs 3 parking lots at the bus interchange, and this is evident at the Changi Business Park Bus Terminal where each bus service, all trunk, is allocated 3 end-on berths.

1 trunk service - 3 parking lots.

Anyway, that's how I arrived at the conclusion that 374 needs 4 parking lots.

As for the "split buses", whatever that is, I remember there were around 2 Volvo B9TL buses at Compassvale Bus Interchange besides 3 Mercedes Citaro buses. That's how I was able to identify that there were 3 buses for 374 parked at Compassvale Bus Interchange at that point in time.

Nevertheless, I must say that the observation was made around 2 months ago. Whatever recount that I write may be wrong. Sorry about that.
