171 (someone suggested this as extension of 177 to Yishun)

961: Woodlands Interchange <> Beauty World (loop) missing sector covered by DTL2, 170, 170A and 171

867: new service: CCK Interchange <> Beauty World (loop)

67: Tampines Interchange <> Rochor Canal Road (loop).

171 can be withdrawn and 180 extended to Yishun. 77 can be used as partial cover for 171 between Bukit Timah Plaza and Stevens Rd and also converted to a loop service. The missing parts of 77 can be covered by an extended 41.

Other changes can hold off until DTL3 is up and running.

Impossible for 180 to extend till Yishun,LTA wont encourage that for sure..The most 171 is shortened to BPJ.

961 certainly still has its demand even after DTL2's opening. It's 171 that saw a much reduced passenger demand after the opening of DTL2.

They had to withdraw 989 (which served Bukit Gombak MRT) 13 years back lor. 2003 was really a year of bus cutting.

Yeah, service 989 was an interesting route back, pity it only last about 22 months in service, remember riding it to airport during those days.

LTA main objective here is to encourage people take PTs,be it those with or without cars.My Uncle is the best example,After his Accord scrap,He buy an Off Peak Car Audi A1..Weekdays to office is Premium svc for him..

If you looked at my map properly you'd all have noticed that my proposed 171/180 merged entity cuts a rather direct line from north to west. The distance covered is only 25.1km maximum. The changes to 41 & 77 are conditional on the fate of 171, obviously.

There is still demand from Yishun to Mandai/BPJ.180 already stressed with heavy loadings.41 & 77 serve different catchment and will be operated by Tower Transit by the way.

171's route is already 34km long, and you want to introduce a diversion to make it 7km longer?!

If 171 gets rationalised, diverting it to Clementi via Ave 6 after Beauty World would be quite helpful. Other routes may end up being too duplicative of 176, 178, 184, 961, 970, etc. If merger is feasible/workable, then perhaps 41 or 177.

IMO the one route that should REALLY be improved is 178. Can just split at around Bt Panjang (or alternatively, Bt Batok), run peak-hour HCs between Woodlands and BPJ, then convert 961 to semi-express along Woodlands Rd.

It's a no no to divert to Clementi, Clementi has no more space for new service already. 27 parking lots is not even enough to fit in the current services terminating there during peak hours.

67 rigid and 170 still have substantial demand towards CCK/WDL on Sunday nights.

Board DTL today around 6:30pm from Bugis, train alr packed and it's running at 2mins interval. Still, don't think it's needed to rationalise. Quite a no. of ppl alight at Newton & Botanic Garden.

Haven't see the loading of 960, but likely less crowded. Would probably prefer 960 over DTL during peak hours if there's seats available on 960.

City Hall & Raffles Place got East West Line
CCK got Bukit Panjang LRT

Isn't the North South Line really heavy utilized...

I think Svc 128 should operate full day and then the buses that served along the downtown line should not be rationalized except for 171...

did u see the demand of 128? basically less than 20 paxes per trip after it pass bishan in the morning... off peak, pax can take the NS line....
