Geylang Bahru: It will defeat the purpose. Bus service along the expressway is faster mode.

Kaki Bukit: Re-do everything, such as the bus stop reinstatement to provide connectivity.

Bedok Reservoir: Within walking distance.

Tampines West: Within walking distance to Temasek Poly/Tampines GreenTerrace. Resolved everything.

Tampines East: Within walking distance of any service. No need a change.

Really? Have you tried walking from Bedok Reservoir MRT (or, its would-be location) to Bedok North Ave 1/4? From Tampines East MRT to the inner areas of Tampines Ave 9, St 43/44/45? Even if you are very able-bodied, how confident can you say that your views represent all / majority of the residents in those areas?

Wait till DTL3 opens, then we'll see.

Not sure whether this is the correct thread, but a handful of CCK residents to downtown will take 190 to the 2nd bus stop after the expressway, and change to the DTL

Actually I have to agree of what he says. Tampines East MRT is near to Tampines MRT although I got no idea where is exactly the station. From there, you have 293/28 to take you there to those streets. You want less walking, alight at Tampines MRT instead. From there, you even have 72/72A waiting for you at the int to Tampines Ave 9

For Bedok Reservoir MRT, I understand as the walking distance is far and there is no way that the DTL can take you back to Bedok. However, I would consider if you take 60 from Bedok North MRT where the route would DIRECTLY bring you to Bedok North Ave 1. To get to Bedok North Rd/Ave 4, I dont really suppose if 17 should make a loop at Tampines Int like how 3 loops at Pasir Ris Int. Like that people can alight at Tampines MRT and take 17 from there or from Tampines Ave 7 where 17 is there as well. To Bedok Street 3, people should just go walk instead. Its not like it takes 5 blocks to get to the street

Most commuters would rather prefer going direct by the loop.

For example:

Tampines - Promenade via DTL3 & DTL1

Tampines - Bukit Panjang, Cashew & Hillview via either DTL2/EWL or DTL2/DTL1/DTL3

Tampines - Rochor via DTL3 to Jalan Besar/Bencoolen or EWL/DTL2 to Rochor/Bugis.

A bendy bus can be seen with a few standees and seats fully occupied on weekends 7+ :o Weekdays don't seems to have packed buses, and almost everyone gets a seat

sv 960's demand/loading is quite erratic.

The only loading that is consistent is between 545pm-630pm... buses calling at Mandai Estate to go towards Woodlands. Each bus gets packed during these timings. Opposite direction full route can be managed by rigids.

Between Bugis and Bukit Panjang... most buses these days have 50-60 pax loading manageable by rigids... few get higher loading. Hence, I feel 960 has also lost some HC buses and more so DDs...

960 will stay as it is. There are direct demand from Industrial area to Tekka daily although not alot but weekends do and some workers dont take DTL to Tekka

yes I know it will stay but it is really sad to see that the loading has dropped like crazy. You could see packed buses during peak hours in both directions before DTL.

Maybe coz they take 961,178, drop at BPJ station and go to work. But sadly weekend 960 is still packed

How about introducing short-trips in high demand directions (960A/B) during peak hours, then transfer the bulk of the DDs / bendys to them?

I personally feel that the three Woodlands Rd services (178, 960, 961) still have great room for optimization.

Improve frequency, reduce route duplications (with both bus and MRT), reduce total journey time? For services with sections of completely different demand/loading patterns, can consider operating them separately (such as 171, I believe).

I think for now dont amend 960 first but reduce those single deckers instead.

Maybe a fleet of 15 MAN A95,6 ADL E500 and 5 MB OC500LE(Xfer from AMDEP) is good enough.

Shud give 960 DD's to other folks like 167/980/851 and leave 6 bendies in 960.

960 loading pattern now like 851 so shud be given same treatment as 851.

Instead of removing the SD or DD, Why not remove 5 bendies and replaced them with 5 DDs. At least can meet WAB quota

The DDs can be used on other services instead of 960.. A22 from city from 5pm -630pm for sv960 are alway without any standees at all. (some might have but most of the time no)...
