Exactly shows how backwards SG public transport is. Almost every
other transit system is able to maintain some form of LCD based
system. Of course there are established players like Japan and
Seoul, but recently even Bangkok and KL are catching up, and so are
the 2nd tier cities in China.
As for buses, it's simply laughable for SG to claim to want to
model after HK, when LCD PIS has been launched as early as 2012
there, and here they can't even include it in a 2018 product.
Since SG is super-slow to adopt PIS/PIDS, people are now using
Google Map and bus apps instead. With the rise of these
personalised "DIY PIS", a LCD PIS may not even be necessary.
