Singapore is notorious for more than two decades trying and
failing to maintain LCD-based PIS/PIDS. I have yet to seen any
system that has passed the test of time.
C751B, BPLRT, C751A, SMB138Y, you name it... Even SG4002G's two
PIDS weren't functioning as intended during the last days of its
trial.
Exactly shows how backwards SG public transport is. Almost every
other transit system is able to maintain some form of LCD based
system. Of course there are established players like Japan and
Seoul, but recently even Bangkok and KL are catching up, and so are
the 2nd tier cities in China.
As for buses, it's simply laughable for SG to claim to want to
model after HK, when LCD PIS has been launched as early as 2012
there, and here they can't even include it in a 2018 product.
