Hopefully somebody here would not compared our GCM with Australia i hope..Aussie is Aussie and Sg is Sg..why not?

imo it is still distance based. Though if they increase the fares any more, it just defeats the aim of being car lite.

You think LTA care much?Fares isn't the only reason to make Drivers left their vehicles at home or totally dont use car at all..Its the winding routes that deter most drivers from taking buses beside the slower than usual speed..Trains?With higher breakdown rates and packed like sardines?Thats one of the reason why i still kept my motorcycle and car.

And worse still, LTA is using fare raise to cover all these winding routes etc... Essentially a lose-lose situation!!

Because there is really no need for sv 68 to be honest.

If it is Pasir Ris - Tampines service, you already have 3, 15, 17, 21, 39, 58, 81, 518 covering different parts of Tampines to Pasir Ris Town.

If purpose of 68 is to connect Tampines North new town, the new town will be operational from only 2019. So what's the purpose of introducing now and have empty buses running on it.

I think after 46 experience they may have decided to delay the launch.

If I understand PTC's statement correctly, Express and trunk fares will be the same.

Another reason,PSR is already at it maximum capacity..Ask them to start from Changi Village passingby Loyang depot,Hafiz from LTA replied too many duplicate..

Ha ha.. from when did LTA start caring about duplicating services. All their recent services duplicate majority part of the route. There are very few unique services that they launched.

When they reduce runtime its very short,Too short until BCs tend to skip bus stops and drive recklessly but when they add runtime,It too long and seriously too long until BCs kena whiplash by pax..Poor BCs only follow schedule also kena screw up for free..Salary only $1950 leh LTA not in UK where Drivers drive less hours,more off days but still earn 3-4k pound sterling per month leh.

I do not think any government in the right state of mind would be so willing to provide $4 billion worth of fare subsidy for the GCM/BCM.

scrap all the bad svcs and long trunk svcs winding around should only pass by the winding sector...

like 858 no need wind so much, just ply main stops can liao and mayb wdl can round a little tho.. after that shud be mainly exp..

I agree express svcs fares shud be same as trunk right now tho.

Just stick to current bus would be better...

IMO, after serval thoughts and rides on coaches, I think headrest seats isn't really going to be comfortable..

you won't be on a public bus for as long as you are on a coach. my neck is fine after constant bus rides. just don't fall asleep

yea the seats are too high and gives a weird feeling u kno.. (Or at lest to me) I think the current seats are fine, tho maybe can extend a lil higher for more comfort

Pardon my usage of the word "coaches", more of private bus rides.

The occasionally rides, some as short as 5-10mins, or as long as 20-40mins or rarely above 1hr, on these private buses, wasn't as comfort as the usual city bus seats already.

Same experience felt on those public buses in Taiwan(mainly those minibus and China coach-like buses).

I think such seats(with headrest) should be wider, rather than higher. But nevertheless, I think most of us can fell asleep without the need of headrest(on MRT)
