Any regular takers of 197 here who feels that the frequency of this service is poor? As the frequency can get as long as 15 minutes interval during peak hour...

LTA already has a surplus of buses

The first order will replace 50 DM3500s, 34 Volvo Olympians and all our bendies except MAN A24s.

The second order will replace 20 Dennis Tridents and 50 Volvo B10TLs in 2021 (Dennis Trident) and 2023 (Volvo B10TL).

The third order will replace all our K230UBs.

THE successor to Volvo B9TL is here . Not here in SG lah but here as in there's a model name for it . It's called the volvo B8L . Apparently Hong Kong KMB is going to receive 1 B8L unit for trial .

Specs for the bus is above ans also pictures has emerged in Internet. HK -forum *cough*

Volvo B9TL axle configuration- Steering axle /Pusher axle / Drive axle .

Volvo B8L Axle configuration- Steering axle / Drive axle / Trailing axle . ( Same like a95 /E500MMC axle configuration) .

You go to HKITalk Fb B8..Its almost the same as B9TL,With DRL headlights only using trailing rear axles compared to push axles now..(Like A95/E500 rear axles)

Engine is 8litre Euro 6 with choices of 280hp/1050nm,320hp/1200nm & 350hp/1400nm..but with more lighter chassis than its predecessor..Torque quite low..Maybe single turbo

It is really irritating that routinely buses are not captured in the "bus arrival time". Many services show bus coming after 20-25 minutes and miss capturing a bus in between.

This has been going on for a long time.

Surprised LTA has still not fixed it.

I believe it has to do with the IDFC. Tried out 883 a few days ago, and before I boarded bus was reflected. As I boarded, I realised that it was not logged in and BC logged in. After that I checked it disappeared...

Another ghost service? What's the purpose? There isn't any development there except for few who can walk to Punggol road and take sv 84 or LRT in future.

Punggol may have a new feeder but for Punggol East end.

Does anyone know if the Matilda Court HDB along Sumang Lane received TOP?

If yes, we may see 382 modified pretty soon to ply Sumang Lane as the HDB is tucked away right inside close to TPE.

Hi mr CZT, actually it is very strange to open Punggol point LRT station at this time. No new developments at all. That area ponggol 17th ave is a private area where most people have cars. It is also not within walking distance to Punggol settlement area. It is around 1.5km. Most people will take service 84 if need to go to punggol settlement as 84 stops directly at the bus stop there.
