Japanese and Korean are classified as Altaic language
group(though disputed),whereas Chinese language(or rather mandarin
& other Chinese dialects) is classified under Sino-Tibetan

Btw,English is essentially a Germanic language(or rather West
Germanic language) with its vocab heavily influenced by
Germanic(from Germanic tribes from Saxony,Angeln,Juteland and
Friesland+Scadinavian,whose language is North Germanic) & latin
languages(Roman occupution of British Isles and Conquest by the
Normans under William the Conqueror).
