Icemoon SG If it's a good idea, how come we don't see serial terrorist snipers in US where rifles are readily available? Probably they're not as sophisticated as their PIRA counterparts? They're going to take hostage later. I hope to see more sophisticated weapons like AK instead of a handgun. Imagine AK in Singapore! That will be cool I don't like the way Ix acts macho. He don't even use semi-automatics when the spec ops guys are using at least sub-MG. And he's always in front. He's not wearing body protection! Wonder why he don't get fragged first.
spencer99 SG Can someone please explain why the "sniper" need to bring a flask of coffee....... and just casually walk out of the van without a need to hide the rifle. Even have a slip-free exercise mat to rest his elbows... Anyone noticed the "2nd" Terrorist Video. It has the "brown" stain on the wall. So actually we can guess the ending liao. The ex-con is going to pinpoint the Terr hideout and IX with is chromed 6-shooters and without any body protection (except a 1-carat diamond) is going to burst into the 3-room flat and shoot dead half a dozen AK armed Terr without re-loading..... Yeah.. the show really sucks... I really hated the "nurse" and "property agent" scene. Then sucks.... but the other scene like the husband faking illness to stay at home is realistic and "short". It is really very slow moving.....
foxtrout8 SG Hey comeon guys , dun be too critical. The show isnt one on being realistic to impressive those who dunno abt such stuff and those who know abt such stuffs. Its arent a realistic action war film like ' band of brothers' , ' we were soldiers' that uses the word ' realistic ' to hit box office. The main objective of the film is to educate the typical public on wat to do when terrorist attack , what the govtment is doing now to deter terrorist attack and wat can happen doing a terrorist attack. It is to info the public on the importance of our country's total defence , whereby the responsibility do not onli depends of the effort of soldiers but the whole population. And also to warn that the repercussion will affect every single one of us. If u want a realistic film that runs along with ur military knowledge , sorry thats show isnt directed for u.
spencer99 SG I agree with you. I think the everyday singaporean will be able to appreciate this show. If it is too complex, the average Singaporean will not be able to appreciate also. In a way, this show will make those who watched it to be more "mentally" prepared in the event that such attacks ever happen to Singapore. This show will probably boost our defence readiness better then a dozen x-ray machine at the airport. Lets face it..... This show is not for Military nuts....

spencer99 SG I am starting to lose patience with this show..... .. Why must the terrorists attack/strike at the hour??? Doesn't that make them too predictable...????? And why didn't the EOD guy just say goodbye gotta go instead of just disappearing. The show really try to do too much.... a. show off hardware - EOD robot and sniffer dogs b. love love - Real estate agent and nurse, EOD guy and poly student c. Singaporeans reaction to threats - coffee shop/"terrorist wife" d. Prank calls (how did the coffee shop guy "plant" the bomb in a army camp???) e. Terrorist are nasty guys..... (merciless sniper) f. Our security forces are completely dedicated, getting divorce and also staying overnight in office.... And all these within 6 hours with a lot of crap in-between...
Icemoon SG Can anyone id the sniper rifle? Issit remington or something? The EOD guy is a staff sergeant. Heard they call him staff neo or something? Another question. Anyone remember the scene which showed the EOD guy resting in his bunk? Before that we see the brick wall with the words "HQ Combat Engineers". Can anyone id this camp? I don't think this guy from the EOD SCE (39?) right?
spencer99 SG From the rank, I thought he was a 1SG, but quite fast so cannot really see. The bolt action of the sniper rifle look very fake, I got a feeling it is a prop and not a real rifle. But the optical scope looks very real.
Icemoon SG I never catch his rank. Where was it? Anyway I could have heard wrongly, 'cos they might have said "sergeant" too fast until it became "sar", which sounds like "staff" in a way. Prop? You mean like airsoft guns? Hahah ... the optical scope, probably they borrow from SAF. Call anyone tell me why they wear the vest with EOD letters? Is that like a bulletproof vest? What's it for? Thought it can't protect them from a real blast.

bismarck SG the video so fake. the ak used in that video so plastic. machiam like go to mama shop to buy. i didnt really watch it as mon got sch. just watch the trailer. anyway the sniper rifle so bloody ugly. so old. my dad still say that rifle so good. say m-16 no scope 1. wah lau,which sniper rifle no scope. msg-90,psg-1,etc all got scope 1 loh. btw anyone knows what handguns they using? esp the scene in the warehouse.
Icemoon SG You can see so clearly meh? Whether plastic or wood? You go mama shop can only buy the short, kiddy version la Old but dear to the sniper. Probably he killed many people with that rifle lor. I'm waiting for the showdown scene between the sniper and Mike. Seems like Mike got blinded. Hahah ... M16 default no scope what. He's correct.
hitman47 SG the rifle, was a customized version of the remington 700 series(looks more like a confiscated airsoft rifle from the S'pore customs warehouse), long bolt action series. if u noticed, the scene when the sniper mades it first shot was quite unrealistic. He forget to take out the scope covers (to protect the scope lens from dust, sand..etc) before pulling the trigger. U mean he is so accurate to hit a target with a coveres scope blocking his aiming ? power sia Its quite stupid. He was also shown loading quite a "few" rounds of bullets into a typical m16 ammo magazine. hmm, doesn't look right either. The sniper rifle he was using had a 4-5 internal mag capacity. The bad guys in the warehouse were using Glocks , my guess would be either Glock 17 or 19. I did saw a Browning HP in one of the recent espisode. Cheers !
bismarck SG my point is, he is comparing a m16 without scope with a purpose-built sniper rifle with a scope. like comparing a 1.5L toyota soluna with Mclaren. as for the ak, i dunno lah, metal surfaces have this shine that is very diff from plastic. anyway ignore me on this.
spencer99 SG Indonesian Hotel Bombing: Actually the Frontline show is correct. It is suicidal to attack military targets like Naval Base. Key installations like government buildings and embassies are also very well guarded. Try meddling around with the Gurkha guards. Civilian targets are more easy and will achieve the same impact.

Icemoon SG What a waste man .. 10 Aug episode was a heart stopper. You got see people play cs chiong wih arctic or scout .. basically like this lor .. then our hero Mike uses handgun .. hahaha ... still can tiok headshot without looking .. he king la. Also someone died, the first death from the sniper. Maybe you can guess that person. The next episode hor ... is basically a cs map. Hostage rescue. Hahah .. maybe Mike chiong with handgun again.
