Nah, in fact for pilots their ocs term is quite different, and you most likely wont commission the same time as the rest of the people who went into OCS the same time as you. You as a pilot who successfully pass out, could very likely be holding on to your OCT rank for almost 2 years before you get your wings. As for the advance flying phrase, its only for fighters i believe. And im not sure whether BWC or the basic wings course is only 6-9 months, normally rsaf is kinda slow with this kinda intakes unless your a scholar.

But all the best. Being a pilot is a tough job.

well coldastone17. maybe you don't understand what the word 'ambition' is. not everyone is after money, well at least i know i'm not as i have considered this option seriously before i made up my mind. there's some things called passion and dream which many find it more meaningful to chase rather than living solely for money. think before you come in and flame others. have a good day.

Nah, if you're working in the flying squadrons, you just support their flying schedules thats all.. Not really shifts, but sometimes i go to work as early as 6am, sometimes 1pm etc.. It depends on the flying schedule.. And dont be too concerned bout rank, because in the RSAF which is a regular dominated area, 3SG is as good as private in the army, you're still the smallest no matter where you go, so just take the money and accept whatever sai gang is throw to you.

changi west has no FSS because aerodrome control is handled by changi international.

as for changi east, they do have night flying pretty often. i've met aos from there who said their shifts can be like 11am to 2am kind.

as for which area i am in, i was trained under air defence control but i am not in H sqn. long story which i don't want to elaborate on.

all flying squadrons are the same..they can fly early, fly in the afternoon or night.. but changi flying squadrons usually fly later at night because they're away from civilization and their timings are usually deconflicted with changi airport peak periods..

As an ACS, you can look forward to opportunities for overseas training, detachments and postings.

The ACS works on board RSAF's advanced helicopters and transport aircraft. You'll be in the thick of the action & armed with skills to take on search-and-rescue missions, life-saving operations, deployment of troops to the frontline, and delivery of crucial supplies to fighting forces.

The Requirements

Academically, you need to have a min. GCE 'O' level.

cannot say heli is bad.

just imagine, when somebody requires immediate medical attention near sg and where land/sea transport is unable to reach on time, the search and rescue heli is activated. the tech and ops crew will feel some kind of satisfaction whenever a life is being saved.

and riding on a heli is indeed a thrilling "roller coaster" ride. :D not many people can do the same thing in their lifetime.

For the Pilot vocation, How long does it take to know whether we've been accepted after I've completed the interview and medical assessment? would they inform you to let you know you've been rejected?
