Agree with you some pts such as price and 4 speed gearbox. For
price is up to individual to access whether do they wan cars in
value for money or just designs and performance. You cant fault
them even though the price is more ex than other 1.6 models. At the
end of the day, the decision still lies with the owners.
Agree that they should have 5 speed gearbox. Anyway manual will be
coming in at the later stage for the 5 speed.
For Drum brake, the hatchback GTS comes with 4 disc brakes.
Cars have high FC mainly due to the owners' driving behaviour. If
you ram often or travel more than 50% city driving, definitely will
use more petrol than necessary. Also for Sports or RS model, they
came with a chasis with 17 inch sports rim which contributes to the
FC.
Suspension wise I find quite ok. Coil springs are located
separately from the dampers beneath the floor to reduce damper
friction for smoother delivery of damping force. The location of
each link is optimised to constantly maintain ideal control of rear
wheel camber against external forces exerted on the moving vehicle.
Camber control has a synergistic effect with Mazda3's optimal roll
centre axis in promoting exceptional road-holding capability and
straight-line stability. Unless you r the type who chiong a lot,
maybe u can consider getting the racing type of suspension.
