Thai-made, Thai-assembled, what's the difference? The problem
lies with the lower than standards built quality, heavy use of
localised materials, not as stringent quality control, as those
which are made in Japan, undeniable about that.
It may seems cheap getting these cost down models, but still at the
end of the day, you still get what you paid for. There are massive
savings for Toyota (the forthcoming Indonesian-made Innova is even
more cheaply made), but the savings to customers are minimal.
If Vios is so good, why its not on sale in Japan? Even the Altis
isn't. In Japan, only the face-lifted Corolla is on sale there.
Japanese are very particular about quality, especially to their JDM
models.
