david3305 SG I buy the point that if Vios and Altis is so good, it will offered in Japan as JDM. Go for the NS. Better design cabin, better built quality although FC is an issue but chose the manual for better FC. The new CVTC is still jerky and the e-throttle makes no difference. My friend just bought one auto NS Ex model. FC is slightly better than last model face lift. Auto box is jerky. Very unlike CVTC technology. NS should have better resale value.
Extremme SG I will be getting the manual 1.5 NS. Both has its pros and cons. “Yi Fen Qian, Yi Fen Hou” i guess. Thank you all for your feedback.
PaulQ SG Why don’t you check whether your friend is driving Nissan and ask them for opinion. Or you can comb the car park and check with Nissan owners. Their opinion is much sincere. That is what I have done when I zoom in on a model.
Extremme SG Generally speaking, I am rather concern abt FC but seems like NS looks more spacious compared to vios and that is why I chose NS. I will seek further inputs from NS friends.
stealthguy SG The Sunny FC is at best 9 km per litre. Only those who are selling the Sunny sales rep will disagree with this figure. But not to worry, there are other ways to improve FC: 1. Always drive down hill, with the engine switched off if possible 2. Switch off the engine while waiting at traffic junction 3. Reduce weight by replacing all the car seats with plastic stools
pixy SG FC generally depends on one's driving style, if you are the cruising type, like my friend, you are ok. NS is a proper 1.5 / 1.6 Family Sedan. No offence to Vios owners, but Vios is in fact based on the Echo / Yaris platform (1.4 Supermini platform), with an alternative sedan bodyshell, and a revised 1.5 VVTi engine.
khchan SG Did a comparison of the Nissan Sunny, Toyota Vios and Toyota Altis. End up buying NS for the following reasons: 1. Although many people say the NS FC sucks. Many was unable to tell me how much it sucks. Like how much more money it will cost me per month. Lets put it this way an additional of $50 per month for petrol over ten years cost less than the $8K additional for the Altis. And like everyone else we take loan on our car the $8K is subject to interest rates charges over ten years. This goes the same with the Vios if we bring it up to par as what the NS is offering such as leather seats, etc. 2. Externally Vios smaller profile looks more like a toy car. 3. The borneo motor sales man sucks. I asked him how does the Vios compare to the cheaper Vios. Its just a basic question as in how he justify the additional cost of the vios. He shot back and say don't compare. Snobbish bugger who sized me and my wife up based on the clothes we wore. The Nissan sales person were more professional and friendlier.
ed-15 SG Ya Nissan Sunny is much more spacious, quiet, classy, look more expensive, but FC no good Vios is abit too crampy.. today i park beside a vios and look into the vios..gosh..no leg room for the rear passengers..maybe have to cross leg er.. maybe the driver is tall? anyway Vios FC is great..
light81 SG It is true that the Nissan Sunny has a higher fuel consumption.. As they are only marketing the 1.6L in singapore Only.. with the demise of the 1.5L ... Not many complaints from the 1.6L from my friends..FC approx 10-11km/L apparently the 100CC increase over the 1.5L did wonders... 1.5L auto NS is a major drinker.... think abt 9-10km/L at best... engine sounds fast .. but with poor gearing and heavy weight. the engine is working extra hard... but with sheer size and the "big and luxurious" look, the SUnny wins hand down.... VIos ,, Thai made.. but with the VVTi engine... Pick up is pretty good even on auto.. Fuel economy can achieve 14-15km/L . interior quality is good.. vios is basically a yaris( toyota echo) with boot.. . feels a bit tall personally.. after driving it a few times.. (like as though sitting on top of car instead of inside..) This car is EONS ahead of the Soluna it replaces..1.5LVVTi ZZFE engine is well suited for this car..only minus point.. dad didn't like the rounded dash and centre console.( he's Old.. n thinks that cars should be like the 80s designed interiors..) I agree with the "toy car" image it portrays... BUt don;t let it veer you away from the vios's plus points of pricing.. FC ...Performance..,.. other Japanese alternative in the same price range.. Mitsubishi Lancer. and i do thoroughly agree with you,, some BM staff aren't too enthusiastic in serving people..( its more LIKE people Looking for em.. kind of nonsense..) Anyway, in the end I chosed the SIS (suzuki ignis sports ) for myself instead.. Most Importantly, get the car to suit your needs as In SIngapore, meeting our needs Definately Superceeds our wants given the Exhorbitant pricing.!! So its either the "Japanese Sushi" or the "Thai Tom yam".. me personally.. I prefer the spicy taste of tom yam to the raw wasabi laced taste of jap sushi....
