I will suggest that you quickly decide what car to buy and to buy from where.
Price are very very low right now and it is very worthwhile to get a neW car at a buget of 60K.

If you make a booking right now, u r very likely able to get it before Chinese new year if you buy from parallel importers.

The agent showrooms at HONDA and TOYOTA are packed at last weekend, what this mean as regards to the next round of COE bidding, i think most of you can guess.

but if you want to buy 2nd hands then not much hurry lor cos 2nd hand dealers are stuck with many cars cos of the low COE.

I tink bo hua lei. I dunno abt S15, i tink is a 2000cc i guess ? i NOt so sure. I sugest u purchase a rx-7, because firstly, its a good engine -rotary engine. 2nd, it's only 1000cc, so pump full tank cheap also. 3rd, road tax cheap, cos only 1000cc. lastly, put some aerodynamics,spoiler n lower ur suspension, damn nice....

RX7 should be 1.3l. and whoever said that pumping a full tank for it is cheap? Rotaries, esp the older ones like RX7, is NOTORIOUS for being horribly expensive where fuel consumption is concerned. and maintenance is not that cheap either. Asking him to get a RX7, AND a 2nd hand one at that, is really asking him to commit sucide!

Young man.... time for you to go look up info about rotary engines... it is good... but it guzzles fuel like nobody's business... pump one full tank might be cheap... but try pumping full tanks around 3 times a week... see whether still cheap or not... Go from one end of ECP to the other... can see the fuel gauge needle drop... you try driving it to and from home everyday... I think the gas station will be your new best friend... Mr. Green

rotary high upkeep for sure
recommended rebuild at 80,000 kms plus i dont tink its easy to service anywhere

for a first car, NA front wheel drive is the best i feel, more room for error

rx-7 rotary engines drink alot
real displacement should be considered 1.3X2 = 2.6 litres (estimate) not 1.3 litres
maintaing the motor + repairs costs more than the s15 for sure cause the rx7 engine is not a regular piston engine, not everyone knows how to repair them

if mazda actually did invent a tiny 1.3 that could produce that much power for its displacement with such an awesome FC, they would be dominating the global market by now
