ME actually quite curious how come only christians does such things? i mean going ard... on the streets giving out bibles.... knocking on ur house doors.... etc etc.... just wana brainwash u ... convert u ... preach ..... etc

The last i was in a cab... this cab driver preach abt christianity to be during the entire journey... luckily it wasnt a long one. And he gave me a phamplet before i alight... dun flame me .. but I have less respect for those who claim to be xtians or buddhists but their actions reflect otherwise. like a buddhist should spend more time practising the dharma or even Zen Buddhism, instead of going temple ask for 4D! not to say going to temple to ask for help is wrong, since Buddha will not reject those who seek his help (if this doctrine is nonexistent, pls correct me).

You know wat. There was a time I went to a mega church in the west. The founder shouted they have the highest church attendance in Singapore and had broken the past record. This really makes me sianz......... Comparing thier church attendance with other church..... What is this man?!

but then hor .. to paraphrase one charismatic pastor, if you have large membership doesn't mean you are growing (in the theological sense), but if you have small membership definitely means you are not growing.

What does it matter? Highest church attendence or whatever. All these big churches and whatever negative representative do not represent christianity nor the entire christian population.

A few ugly singaporeans can't condemn the entire Singaporean population either.

With regards to the original question, about the teacher asking ur child to go to church, well, first of all, this is not an issue about christianity or the church in question.

This is an issue about MOE's guidelines regarding teacher-student contact. I believe most of us at this forums will not be able to provide u a satisfactory answer as none of us can confidently say we represent MOE.

Your question is best directed MOE, and let them know ur child's name and school. I believe only they can give u a satisfactory answer. Your original question serves no purpose here other than inciting unecessary tension regarding religious issues.

I never carry their balls. from the beginning till now, all my criticisms are levelled at those who claim to be buddhists or taoists but having shallow faith. In fact I question whether they can be called buddhists and well .. we have a bona fide buddhist here who at least agree on this point. Very Happy

To me, a good bhuddhist is somebody who does good and be good and follow the teachings of bhuddha. Not necessary to visit temple everyday and take part in the activities...etc etc.
