My recommmended items:

1: Suspension
These are a must for good handling. Lower and stiffer is the key here.
(Not too low unless you want your undercarriage to be covered in scratches Rolling Eyes )

2: Wheels (aka rims)
Reduce weight and (if design is selected properly) makes the car look great without overdoing it. Upsize it by 1 or 2 inches.

3: Tires
I find that this is one of the most-neglected parts of a car. Most boyracers do up their engines, only to find that their car's become too powerful for the stock tires. Selection of tires depends on your driving style, but always remember that the only part of your car that's actually in contact with the road are those nondesript rings of rubber wrapped around your rims.

4: Brakes
Another neglected part. Ventilated disc-brakes are the way to go. Get slotted rotors and six-pot calipers. Don't get brakes that are too heavy or you may end up having to upgrade your engine premurturely(sp).

5: Strut bar
Strengthens the chassis and prevents it from bending. If your pockets are deep enough, get one made of carbonfiber.

From here on, you can upgrade your engine, but don't go overboard or even these upgrades won't help you from crashing.

For a first-time car owner, no need to mod your car with all those performing enhancing stuff, incl stickers that increase your top speed to 200kph Mr. Green and huge guni kong muffler that increases your pickup power to achieve 0-100kph in 3 seconds .

1)The first thing I suggest is getting your car windows/windscreens tinted. There are many benefits of doing that, which I'll elaborate if you are not sure.

2) get a reliable boyfriend or AAS membership to handle car breakdowns.

3) get a safety triangle breakdown signage.

4) get a bigger rearview mirror if you are not comfortable with the small factory fitted one. It helps a lot.

5) as mentioned, if you find your horns too soft, you can easily install aftermarket ones that will wake the dead.

My take on new car.....

1. you dun exactly need anything for a new car.... Since you are a 1st timer then drive the car for a while and you will have some idea of what you want.

2. Stock Tire can be crappy but only if you drive fast. If you belong to those type that keeps to speed limit then you can drive it for a while before changing. If you normally drive at 20-30km above speed limit then do change to performance tyre. Can also change to ventilated disc brake but first check with agent whether will void warranty.

3. Applying for AA membership is good as you dun have to change puncture tire on your own. Also got 5% petrol discount at shell.

4. New car comes with floor map so you dun exactly need new ones unless you want to protect the original one.

5. Lastly just enjoy the ride .... why spend more on accessories when you have already paid so much for the car.....

sunshades are a good choice....it serves 2 purposes....one it protects the leather frm cracking in the long term (if u do not have sun flim installed) the other is to block ppl frm wad u're doin in the car... Wink Wink
try not 2 get car perfumes....once u dun use it for some time the air in the car will be stale and as a result it sill be horrible...thats car perfumes are not reccomended la....jus a personal opnion....
oh and last but not least...get a vaccum cleaner...u may never know when u need it or its very useful esp. when u need 2 clean out the car

actually wat r these sunshades? those things you put up on the windscreen when u park the car to block out the sun? or something u add onto the windscreen itself permanently?

and car perfumes.. does ambi-pur or glade count?

go tint ur windows if it hasn't been tinted by Tan Chong .. buy rubber floor mats ... its easier to handle ... go get some rubber mat for the dashboard so that u can place barangs on it ... err of course get a good neck rest because it really helps alot ... and of course dun make ur car too fancyful because there are alot of green eyed people around ...
