The fever is usually high grade (39-40), intermittent and comes
on and off. The panadol may only offer slight relieve, and you may
feel okay, but the fever will come again once the panadol loses its
effect. The fever usually runs a course of 5 days only (the most),
and rashes will take over (when fever subsides). Usually many will
go to hospital only when they notice the rash. But in the case of
an outbreak now, a lot of people will panic when they have a fever,
and would go to outpatient clinics or A/E department for check-up.
The best they do is to withdraw blood to detect the Dengue IgM
serology. Results within 5 hours, so you have to wait lor, if
present, they will ward you immediately.
