Problems in moving off ( half clutch ) esp on uneven road

hi bro, i have same prob. i got this tip from my frenz. when u stop and changed to 1st gear. slowly release the clutch until u see the front hood vibrating....

you anchor your ankle on the floorboard, then you do your usual stuff of half clutching and abit of acc. then i think one of the mistakes learner drivers make is that they pull up the handbrake too much. actually you don't need to pull so much one. pulling the handbrake too much will result in the need of a greater effort to release it. not exactly the easiest thing to do while you're on a slope. Mr. Green . then to move off you just hold you feet position and release the handbrake SLOWLY. school car's clutch burn abit never mind one. you half clutch all the way up the slope they also LL. haha. main objective is not to rollback.

Rev to abt 5000rpm...then dump the clutch...and hit accelerator all the way...its a good way to start when u took your tp test...this is a good tip.

I've not gotten my license yet (TP next mth hopefully!), but curious to find out:
what will cause auto cars to stall, since there's no clutch to bother abt?\

I also hv this prob with half-clutch during my lessons. some cars' clutch seem so hard to control.

its not hard to control clutch if u constantly take lessons...btw...auto cars will not stall...

I experienced it before. The auto car that I am driving stalled when I brake to a complete stop...Probably due to some kind of fuel injection problem...Engine will stop running when there is no fuel feeding it. Solution might be to press the accelerator repeatedly after it stalled before restarting the engine. Wink

Wow...you must be veri "zai". Need only 7 lessons to learn driving. How envy Wink . Me now learning U turn, always cannot get the car to be straighten on time Sad . Either almost hit the kerb or steer the wheel too early.

Practise makes perfect... Different people have different learnin speed... True, u may really envy those who learn super fast, but then though u tak a slightly longer time, u will sooner or later reach tat stage too!

Each and everyone of us, i think do encounter different probs... For u turns ah...

mOst impt is ur half clutch control, esp if u jus started movin off... anywae, u see the kerb jus beside the area u sittin, is the time to full lock to go into the lane u r supposed to go into...

Wat do u mean by cannot straighten in time leh?

The car for me lah, i dunno... But it will also tend to always swerve abit... Is tis wat u r concern about?

All i can say is tat, while controllin ur speed, u faster adjust ur steerin wheel, go more to the left, then quickly acc, coz u r super slow already when makin the u turn...

The thing to do in mastering clutch control, is the point where it catches torque. Then make a mental mark at which point in release ( angle of left foot in relation to ankle ) that torque-pull sets in. The other portion of clutch control is regulating acceleration with the right foot. Most engine stalls are due to nervousness, anxious and declutching too fast.

The best practice is on a slope, and best of all, use a deserted HDB multistorey carpark and practice taking off on one of the up-ramps. Or find a gradual slope somewhere and practice clutch control. I see a lot of panic-stricken people ( especially those who just got their license ) in shopping center basement carparks, struggling to control their clutch going up the ramp.

It is indeed, EMBARASSING.
