Anyone ever seen LCD monitor that can fit into the current Mp3 console? I have seen but not sure whether it is for Altis.

I think the DVD/VCD console is fiited to the glove compartment.

(1) the car does hv a bad body roll. hope to upgrade the tyre width to 195 when the current one is worn out. does the rim hv to be changed as well or can it stay at 14"?

(2) my second upgrade would be the sound system.

(3) i wonder if anyone has sound-proofed the boot cover? does it reduce road noise further? heard that nissan sunny boot cover already got sound-proofing by default.

for those interested, i found the "official" answer in the altis owner's manual on page 112. basically "break-in" period is 2000km, and no stressing the car.

Hi

I just got my Altis 1.6 last week. Previously, I was driving G9 XLi.
Here are some differences between these two rides:
1. Altis is more powerful. Probably this is due to the difference in engines of 1.6 and 1.5
2. Altis is a smoother ride than the G9.
3. Altis is quieter than the G9. My colleague who is driving the a.6 G9 can feel and hear the difference in the quietness.
4. Altis does not give me the "floating" feeling when turning corners.
5. Altis has ECT which G9 does not have.

Exterior:
1. Altis looks longer probably due to the sleek exterior as compared to G9. Some said corolla has a successful diet regime Very Happy
2. Both Altis and G9's boots are difficult to close. I have to give an extra force in order to close the boots. But this has been resolved when I sent the rides for servicing.
3. The headlights are different
4. The front grilles are different
5. The tail lights are different

Interior:
1. The interior is not much difference between Altis and G9 1.6 models.
2. Both have climate control (G9 1.6 model and Altis)
3. Both have the same leather seats and woodgrain
4. The dashboard lights are different.
5. The gear box of Altis 1.6 and G9 is the same.
6. Altis is slightly more spacious than G9.

In a nutshell, both rides are really good cars and i have no regrets driving them around.

my 1st full fuel tank registered consumption of 10.1 km/l. rather disappointed. but then i was stuck in a bad traffic jam once. hope it will get better…

Don't know why, my first tank also around 10.5 km/l only. My 2nd, is 13 km/l around.

Hi,
I took delivery of my altis last week and drove strictly in city traffic with full intention to check out the consumption. The return was 11 km/L. I am now monitoring the consumption on half city/half highway driving to check it out. Will update everyone on the 2nd finding. After which, I will only drive on highway and see what the outcome. I have enjoyed driving the altis so far and is definitely much quieter and smoother than my previous 5 yr old Corolla.

I have been driving my altis for about 6 weeks. I must say I really enjoyed driving this car. Better than my honda city. My FC for the Confused last 3 weeks are 12.1, 12.6 and 12.7 km/ltr. Not sure how you guys calculate your FC. The lowest FC i had was about 11.8 km/ltr - that was my first hit.

I have been enjoying the comfort of altis for weeks. This is the best car.
But,
Since your previous car is Honda city'vtec like mine. Just curious, Do you think our previous Honda city has better pick up?Even at 110km/h, honda city feel very responsive to accelerate. I guess i miss that feeling.

I have the mica metallic gray and it looks better than I had expected.

For checking of FC, I usually top up the petrol to the brim myself. There on, I zero the trip meter. On the next and subsequent refill, I did the same and record the mileage travelled. Divide the mileage travelled with the amount of fuel (full tank of course) purcased and you get the km/litre. Get the average after a few repeated exercise and the result should be quite accurate.

i hv a diff way to check the mileage: top up the tank. zero the trip meter. it does not matter how much fuel u use. u can use half the tank, or finish the tank. on subsequent top-up, record the volume put in. now u can calculate the dist/vol. i suppose this is more accurate becos the only variable is the full level; the empty level becomes irrelevant.

I collected my Altis car for one month. Today it so happen I discover that there are water spots on my bonnet, boot and roof top of my car. Noticeable under stronglight condition. I tried to remove it other than using rubbing compund - still there. For the one month that I had the car, I practically wash it everytime after a downpour whether heavy or light. New car sure to wash. But still this can happen. Very heart pain.
Any other Altis owners have this problem. What can I do? I intend to bring this up to BM when I sent my car for 1K servicing this coming Monday.

Having a NEW car is rather stressful. Fear of getting it scratch,dent or dirty. BUt then it can't be help unless your don't drive the car out. As time goes your will get tired with all the unnecessary tension. This is my second new car and i try to take it easy. I try.

Hi, I've been driving since early feb 04. My 1st tank was 10.4 k/l. About 10 tanks so far and my mileage ranges betw 11.3 k/L to 13.5k/l.

Median is around 12.3 - 12.6k/l. Foot is moderate to heavy, with 80% city and 20 highway. Found that more city and traffic jam, FC goes dowm. Also 1- 2 person in car most of the time.

Think that is quite good FC. Currently mileage is abt 5,000 KM, still have to go for 5k servicing. believe that synetic should be better.

When I drive my uncle's nissan sunny from my house in the west to the airport and back, the fuel guage drops by 1/4 tank. Here with 3 passengers and full trunk, only drop 2 notches.

So far so good ...

I assure you this is quite normal. This is my 6th and yet behaving crazy like anyone. Mr. Green

for car wax, I have been using the polymer type Hi-Glaze 88 since 15 years ago and it is serving me well. It leaves a smooth surface on the paint work and yet provide water repellant effect.
Try it. Price is about $14 - $16 for the 300ml packing. The 1 litre packing is about $30 plus and is more economical.

some minor complaints that will brought to BM's attention.
1) Noticed the airbag cover on the steering wheel is not in alignment. Anyone has similar issue ? Question

2) The car seems to steer towards the left if my hands are off the steering on a straight road.

3) Low level rattling noise coming from the engine.
