I am beginning to suspect the rattling noise is from the cover
of the storage compartment on the left of the driver's seat. Check
it out. It's shaky and do gives a very low rattle when you rock
it.

i dun think so, becos the noise stops whenever there is a front
passenger -- this holds the seat more steady and so the head rest
does not shake as much.
This may sound super basic and stupid...but then i had a
rattling noise too, it came from the passenger seat belt buckle
knocking against the central pillar. Everytime after a passenger
takes off the seat belt, the seat belt automatically goes io this
position where the buckle would knock against the central pillar,
u'd juz have to adjust it properly so that it doesn't emit any
noise while u're driving alone.
It took me quite a while to realise where that irritating noise
came from and i was wondering why it disappeared when i have a
front passenger.... for the rest of the places where others have
suggested where the noise came from... it's silent for me. I wonder
if this stupid safety belt issue can be counted as a manufacturing
defect...
