bsl SG Yes, I did realise the seat belt buckle causing the rattle. However, the very low level rattle is very much different from the seat belt noise. It is kind of muffered and you need to park in a quiet spot to fully hear it. Maybe I had too much fish for my meal to manage my cholesterol leh. Another problem from the seat belt buckle after it was returned to storage position at the driver's side: I had difficulty draging it out again as the buckle gets caught in between the seat and the seat belt storage column. It's minor but irritating. Not user friendly. Aiyah!, each time I had to turn to disengage the buckle and very fad up lah.
Triodeman SG Yesterday I've collected my silver Altis 1.8. I've changed to 15" rims and tyres, done up the Toughseal sealant thngly and Huper Optik. It's a wonderful car, quiet and very responsive. But hor, the original ICE system is really quite hopeless Will upgrade this soon. Oh yeah, so far I've noticed these on my Altis: 1. steering wheel didn't move to the left or right when I let go my hand. 2. rattling noise occur around the front area under the steering wheel when I go thru' uneven road, otherwise no rattling noise. 3. the boot is quite hard to close ... my wife has to slam it down 3 times to close it properly 4. the steering wheel is not aligned properly; when my Toyota logo on the steering wheel is upgright, the car will drift a bit to the right ... Will get it aligned when I go for my 1K servicing.
ronyyk SG Hi, I comfirm problem on my altis only. I check with BM today. One experience technican spot the problem, it is the air-con pipe. At the point where the pipe about to enter the cabin, it was found knocking with car chasis where rpm reach 2800. Hope the rest of altis owner can also take note.
y720 SG what i do is i close the boot by pushing down the left or right side of the boot cover. this swings down the boot at a higher speed and so far i hv closed it at the first try with this method.
sirlee SG Hey, my dad 1 is red mica! Like tat car alot...very comfortable compare to my ignis sport...
bsl SG If you do decide to change by deregistering your car, I have found a way to get more returns. If your car is less than 5 yr old with high COE value, consider to deregister. That will fetch you the rebate from LTA. Next, ask your sales man or any car dealer to export your deregistered car. You could get at least another $1000 or more, depending on your car's condition and make. I did that to my previous Corolla (5 yr old) and got another 2.7 K apart from the rebate from LTA.
sirlee SG Ha ha..no lah,my ignis sport is only 4 mths leh...dun think will selling loh.sometimes drive my dad's altis out to enjoy... thanks anyway for yr information!!!
Ghee SG You mean you deregister yourself??? meaning redempt the car loan and then get the scrap paper from LTA. Did your SE take in your scrap paper at value? Pls let us know the detail of export the car through your SE or car exporter, any different between them. Thanks in advance!
bsl SG The SE did everything for me, deregistering and seeking out an exporter. Most sales staff would not volunteer such info unless you direct them. You need to check out with other dealer first to ascertain the best value for your export then ask the SE to seek for same if not better. He would probably ask for a token commission which I think is reasonable. Yes , the SE accepted my full LTA paper rebate value for new registration.
B|ueDevi| SG Any members here mod their Altis or change their body kit? Have any idea where can get Altis body kit and stuff?
CarDreamer SG Hm.. looks like make in Thailand corolla got this problem. What bout those driving make in Japan corolla.... any noise problem?
y720 SG i found another minor problem. the horn section of the steering wheel does not seem to be aligned properly. the gap on the left side is bigger than the right. anyone has this fitting problem?
TAL SG I think all these problems mentioned can be rectified right..merely irritating only. But how's the ride? Is it comfortable? Anyone tried driving with four people at the back?
Ghee SG But i also check alreadi, but the SE only came back with accepting tmy old car at scrap value... there is no value attach to the body??? wat's ur advice??? How did you manage to get ur SE to do it for you??? Is your SE from BM Ubi or Alexandra
ronyyk SG Regard boot problem, Just go to BM tell them the problem, they solved me during servicing week ago.
extraordinary SG i jus drove my frens on sunday.. 4 pple at the back. they din complain so i guess its not too bad. i mean.. all cars are abt the same when it comes to fittin 4 pple at the back rite.. wont be too comfortable! unless urs is the super big cars like the mercs etc la. even in the big cars, one person will always be uncomfortable when it comes to fittin 4 adults behind... one person surely wont be able to lean back while the rest can.... unless u are talkin abt 4 kids den i guess it shud be ok la.
