Getting my family's one soon too.. Just wondering what you guys will advice to coat the new car with... to protect the paintwork and the shine?

do u guys face tis problem?

u power lock all doors and then somebody tries to open a car door from outside.... then when u release the door lock from the driver's side, the lock to the door dat the person was trying to open got jam... n u got to manually unlock the lock for dat car door?

is tis a problem with altis or with all makes of cars? Question

This only happens when u are releasing the lock and the person outside is opening at the same time. Next time signal to the person outside to wait 1st while u are releasing the lock. After the unlock sound is heard, then get the person to open it.

Another thing, I just replaced my front right headlamp due to water vapour inside. I took some photos just in case Borneo Motors refuses to believe this happens to me. After I told them abt the problem, they just replace it although that day my headlamp does not have water vapour inside. Do u all have this problem?

Well, you can check your battery terminal (Red-Positive Point) to see if there is any corrosion Wink

My Altis' battery had corrosion on the red terminal and I had it changed at BM. Smile

Had the water vapour also on RHS headlamp. Will be replaced during my upcoming 10k servicing. They have acknowledged the problem.

Battery terminal had also severe corrosion, but was not replaced! Sad Instead, they applied Conductive Grease. Actually no corrosion would have taken place if Conductive Grease was applied when the car is assembled.

So you still intend to go back to BM for 10K servicing?
Yes, they told me to wash with warm water.
But I just sent it to BM, because the battery has 1 year warranty. I did not add any battery water so there should not be any spillage that could have resulted in the mess. The replaced battery looks like new Rolling Eyes

well, i will be going back for my 10k servicing, in fact planning to continue to go back to BM till i sell the car. it makes a diff between an agent maintained car and a non agent maintained car in a long run. at least to me as i have witnessed that on my previous ride.

The battery has a 2-yr warranty, not one yr.

Yup, have check out the 2 shops u recommend. Taiwan/Thailand 15" rim w/tyres (Bridgestone G3) top up $500-$600. Japanese/Italian 15" rim w/tyres (Bridgestone G3) top up $1200-$1400. Shocked

Still have not decide which to opt for. Rolling Eyes

Any of you using Bluetooth Handsfree in your car? I found this device by the company PARROT where you just have to plug it to the lighter jack and works with Bluetooh enabled phones like Ericsson T610.

I wonder how the device look like when plug in our Altis.

15" Taiwan/Thailand made rim are relatively low in cost. Ard $500-$600 w/tyres like Yokohama Aspec DB. Guess you can bargain a little more with your dealer. Hit below $600 all in should fetch you a set of decent rims of your choice.

Idea I've enquired for rims and tyres last week. Found out tat Bridgestone tyre is cheaper locally. But Yokohama tyre is cheaper in M'sia. Difference abt $10-$20.
Some branded rims like Enkei,OZ are cheaper in M'sia too. +-$100.

i would not buy Enkei/OZ/Grams/etc....& tyres inclusive from M'sai. I fear that the rims are non authentic.

Quite true. In fact, i personally think tat rims are more prone to imitations both in SG n M'sia. Not much comment abt tyre. Rolling Eyes

For 3M floor mat, Carrefour is selling abt $140 and u need to trim/cut them to ur car floor size. Maybe u can enquire abt other similiar products. I got mine for abt $50 for the whole car.

For audio lobangs. goto http://forums.delphiforums.com/diy4fun/start and http://forums.delphiforums.com/CarsSoundSystem/start. I am also looking fwd to change my sound system as well. Wonder if it will void the warranty if the head unit is replaced? Current head units in the market will not fit nice into Altis head unit slot. There will be gaps at the 2 sides (heard from TCS forum).

Things I have added to my Altis
1. German leather seats (Done by my in-laws)
2. NanoLux Ultimax solar film (From NanoLux, can help u all to get discount)
3. Mud guards (Got it from TCS forum)
4. Advantis 15" sports rims and Yokohama DB Aspec A500 tires (195/60/15) (From Lee Beng Tires)

The above are what I wanna share with all the Altis owners here, hopefully we can a list of lobangs.

The 3M mat the last i knew could be got from Bukit Batok (apologies that I do not have the address anymore), apparently the shop does a custom cut for you...good deal Smile I am using Korean mats, which are exactly identical to 3M (thickness n softness), cut to size with velcro on the bottom. These were given FOC by my SE.

For Audio stuffs, 2nd stuffs, you may visit the links provided by our forumer in the earlier posts, else a good place would be sim lim square, but you will have to DIY or have it fitted by some installer. I do not think an upgrade of the Audio system would void the entire vehicle warranty, but probably on the Audio section only. I have changed my front speakers to CDT HD62, disabled my rear speakers, carried over my Pioneer HU and JL Audio 12" Sub from my previous ride.
