Honestly, very hard to answer. It depends on whether I belong to a religion and my outlook, and whether the child shares my religious conviction.

It is a good question, nontheless. You might not have a homosexual child, but it is possible your child is autistic. Or born with Down Syndrome. Or born with that funny disease where you will shout and scream for no apparent reason.

Seriously I will be more worried with the latter cases. At least a normal gay can survive in society; whether the child with Down Syndrome can survive and even find a bf/gf or not is still question mark. Neutral

In fact, the content of 377A hasn't really been enforced since 1965. Was our law and constitution mocked because of that?

Fact is, our government is willing to bear the "mockery" of having a non enforced law. Even if the govt does not love gays, can anyone say the govt is all out to get them, like we are going all out to tekan drug traffickers, sex offenders, murderers etc.?

Sure, the gov is not out to get them. But forcing a law, which is against human basic right, double standard between sexes, a mockery of the legal system and the promote discrimination of a group of people is already cause of concern

There is a gross mistaken concept by PRP. He assume gays r socially inept people in society and cannot find a girl who like them and have to resort to homosexual. The second mistaken concept is tat gays have no taste or preference and will take anybody, no matter how lousy or how socially inept tat person is as a partner.

Truth is, a lot of homosexual r more charming than normal guys and women like them more for their sensitivity. And a lot of lesbians r actually very pretty and a lot of guys will do anything to chase them. But they prefer someone of their own sex.

1. Majority of MPs and the govt want to retain it.PM said there were good reasons for ppl who oppose repealing the law.

2.Parliament keep the law to show that sexual value it want to keep.Sex is meant to be heterosexual.

3.With this law,pro-gey ppl cannot advocate such lifestlye openly because otherwise it would be telling ppl to commit a crime.

Would SIS accept PM's 'verdict' on this issue?

Majority ? Prove it. And there r also good reasons for people who want the law not to be kept. The reason why gov want the law to be kept is mainly to appease the religious people and keep singapore from being divisive

As said, it is being pragmatic and just want to be popular. Sex is meant for heterosexual is a point which u think.

This is rather late, but heterosexuals can choose to become homosexuals ...
I know a friend who was from a certain school in Singapore.
According to her, the student body largely consisted of homosexuals.
All the 'popular' kids were homosexual (this was in an all girls' school).
In order to gain acceptance, she once considered to choose to become homosexual.
(Many of her friends who had once gone to the same primary school and had moved into the same sec school as her had chosen to become homosexual.)
However, eventually, she set her mind that she would not do something like that for acceptance.

I'm very proud of her =).
