lionnoisy SG i would say Thanks and Good bye to all of u leaving SG.Thanks for leaving a bigger chance and place for me and my kids to develop in SG.When u in overseas ,u instanly become a foreign talents. 2.But i would say the party of SG has just begun!! See for yourself our fore fathers turn this poor small island into a modern city almost free from corruption, unless u see high salary as a form of corruption---a fixed corruption. But it is 100 times better than floating corruptions. free from crimes, almost free from invasions.Only the mad man will do so. free to go,anywhere, thanks for your little red book.
LazerLordz SG I don't recall Circ du Soleil being here in July though, a crate of clowns must have fallen out of the sky.
fymk SG Now you are contradicting yourself. You want to talk about low crime as though there are no crime.
SingaporeTyrannosaur SG Artic cirle? So your point on "free from crimes, almost" is moot and worthless, and put in only to demostrate your lack of prowless in english? I've been to America, Australia and all those places you seem to think are warzones, and no, they aren't impossible to live in. Let's look at your other points: free from invasions.Only the mad man will do so. free to go,anywhere, thanks for your little red book.Plenty of other nations are also free from invasions. And plenty of other nations are also free to go anywhere with their passports. So what is so special about Singapore in your points? What's so special about us is really this: 1. Claim to be first world, constantly ranked third world in many things. 2. Supposed to be powderful in english, but have lionnoisy who is not so powderful in in
will4 SG Local left here for other countries is mainly because of the reason listed. 1) Stiffling education system which is killing creativity. 2) Govt keep on telling people what to do n what not to do. 3) NS mainly some guys cannot tahan the training before they go thru it. 4) country is too small.
Jontst78 SG There are many things that are common in other countries that have actually become status symbols, or only available to the mid-high and above here in Singapore. Like say a Car or a house.... for example.... I want to live outside the city in a larger home with a garden etc.... no such choice here in Singapore. Landed property here in Singapore is only reserved for the super high income. The government wants to kerb the buying of Cars, but the polices implemented are contradict each other. First, the COEs are introduced to discourage people from buying cars. But when no one was buying cars.. they removed the mandatory 30% down payment and allowed loans of up to ten years from 7 years, while keeping the COE inplace- of course by then it was too late as too many already paid for COE. If they were serious about reducing the number of cars, they should just lottery the cars with a fixed quota. Taxation, the tax structure here in Singapore, the higher you are on the income level, the more it favors you. While in many other 1st world nations, the higher up you are, the more you pay, even in terms of percentage. And of course, the the large majority who are middle income earners don't get the reap the benefits. Even the boasts of economic growth, the middle income earners benefit less that higher income earners, even in terms of percentage.
ShutterBug SG As if you do not know,... Their policies are obvious that they favor the rich more, whilst the poor are just a hindrence to them... It's like in Casinos; high rollers and big spenders are welcomed with red carpet walkways and special treatment... Besides, landed properties here SUCKS big time; it costs so much, and yet cramped and lack any scenery to match the price tag... For cars, they make the most out its Taxes upon Taxes, just like ciggarettes; I mean, if they really mean to stamp out smoking, why don't farking BAN imports??? Too much money to forego?? I bet that is the case.... If lesser cars on the roads means more money for the gov., we'd be all on bicycles by now...!! I'd rather invest in properties abroad...
ShutterBug SG Not just landed property... but a beach front house with driveway and a small dock for your boat! Here, we pay well over 300K just for a sea-view...
Jontst78 SG I heard that Marine Parade HDB 5 rooms are now 800k? I am planning marriage in the next 1 to 2 years. Not a high earner, but I am now alot less confident in feeding a family without having to worry about chasing $$ 16 hours a day.
