Dear Fren,
I can totally understand what you are going through, I went
through very similar experience 1 year ago, am now in the process
of finalizing my divorce. What is this world is coming to?
I know this is gonna haunt you for a long time to come. It'll
take some time for you to at least cool down a bit and get back
some logical thinking. Then you have to ask yourself, what do you
want?
There will be people who tells you to hang on to the marriage
for the sake of the child, that is bull in my opinion.
1) The child might or might not be happy if you decide to get a
divorce, the child might or might not be happy in a problematic
marriage as well. It will be an unknown factor.
2) Most of the times, children are highly adaptable, much
more than adults.
So, don't worry too much about the child, I think what you want
is more important.
And to those who say beating up the other guy need to go to
jail, they probably don't read the newpapers and don't know the law
well. You could have pretty well gave the guy a punch or two, if
you desired. He probably wouldn't pursue the case, and even if he
were to call the police, the police will not do anything and ask
him to file a civil suit. Fighting is a non criminal and non
seizable offence. Please don't cause serious injury or use weapons,
that is a different case.
You are probably gonna be depressed, cannot sleep well and
cannot focus on your work. Please seek help if necessary. For me, I
couldn't sleep, and when I don't sleep well, it affects my mood,
and I get more depressed, and it just spirals downwards from there,
a vicious cycle.
Good Luck Bro. If you need to talk, do drop me a message. We can
compare notes. :)
