All those who think svc 85 has no loading, THINK TWICE.

Loading on svc 85 (SBS2760C) from Punggol to Yishun at 6.15pm (seems late by 8 minutes)

(Surprised to see so many pax at interchange... Transferring to feeders?)

- Yes, svc 85 has loading.
- I say the bus may be 8 minutes late, because the tv in interchange first showed next bus was 6.07pm, but the bus only arrived at 6.15pm. But I didn't see the subsequent bus even after a long time, so it may not be late, just that the timings shown on tv are inaccurate
- Some of those who boarded at Punggol East alighted at Rivervale and Compassvale, but not many
- Suspect that most of the pax who boarded at Sengkang East Rd alighted at Fernvale, but some may have travelled all the way to Yishun
- I lost count at Sengkang West Way because I was unable to see the number of pax boarding/alighting. General pattern at Sengkang West Way is that, at each stop, around 5-6 pax will alight and 4-5 will board, the numbers are very close; at Jln Kayu, 1-2 pax alight at each stop while 3-4 board
- Still, most pax on 85 travel (from Sengkang or even Punggol) to Yishun/Khatib; some use it as an intra-town service within Sengkang, some use it as a feeder to Sengkang West Way
- I believe svc 85 has potential as people seem to prefer svc 85 as a point-to-point service to Yishun (especially Sengkang West residents) instead of 965. Thus loading may increase if frequency is boosted
- Although somehow packed, no need for DDs for now. But it's not a service with only 20 pax during peak hours!

Sbs 85 loading is mainly due to few factors.

---lower frequency than other services thus accumulated many people on 1 bus.

---peak hour especially high crowds.

---crowds from Punggol east/Sengkang east/sengkang west

---blooming number of HDB flats in sengkang west area

---only 1 bus service at sengkang west way (sbs 85) not counting other nearby roads

---fastest way from sengkang east/west area to khatib/yishun.

---at present, LTA still not introducing new bus services to sengkang west way, thinking changing some single deck to double deck for SBS 85 will help.

---foresee new service will go to sengkang west very soon.

** Basically service had 20 pax peak on bus.

** How about you have 102 that starts from HCI do Upper Serangoon Crescent in both directions. The stop at View is quite misplaced. Not one person boarded or alighted. This way 324 can be removed and 102 can replace and be more useful

** Observation on Upper Serangoon road (stop where 62/136 calls) had at least 15-20 pax waiting for bus

** Significant number of people choose to take 112 to Kovan instead of Hougang (also noticed some people crossing road once saw bus coming in direction of Kovan)

** Quite good loading but expected it to be higher considering it is only service for HG Ave 7 residents (except 51/87 that calls one stop on HG 7)

Bro... observation is accurate on that particular day.. as I am looking at the loading at the bus stop... cannot take down the rego number for each bus... but made a note to take down the rego number for downroutes on sv 70.

Coz before, there are no buses from KTPH to Yishun MRT... And the shuttle takes ages to come, and its a 20 seater sprinter...

Even for MRT to KTPH, only 812 which is i) confusing for non-residents, ii) troublesome (esp during undesirable weather conditions) coz need cross road to KTPH and must walk to int, and iii) non-WAB

Good move to pass by the main entrance of KTPH, with a bit of word passing 103 sure will become very popular within Yishun itself

Now not only got more alternative to go KTPH, it also utilises the under-utilised KTPH stop (used to be a stop only for midnight svc)

Some residents from NE also benefit with direct access to KTPH!

There has to be a sv 70 right in front for no one to board along YCK Road (only 2 pax) until AMK Ave 3, where the bus normally is packed. Quite unusual. For the Yishun bound, I think people need more time to get familiar with the service and build confidence that the bus will come in time. sv 806 has 02-03 min frequency, 103 frequency is still unknown. But I do expect the loading to increase.
