Tanah Merah MRT -- 21
Xilin Ave -- 21 (0/0), 22 (0/1), 22 (-1/1)
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal -- 01 (-21/0) there were some who
wanted to board bus but BC did not allow. They didnt know looks
like its going to go to Alps though EDS stated. I was only pax on
board.
Changi Coast -- 01 (0/0)
Alps Ave -- 07 (0/6), 07 (0/0), 12 (0/5), 13 (0/1)
Changi Coast -- 13 (0/0)
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal -- 35 (0/22)
Xilin Ave -- 49 (0/14), 82 (0/33),
85 (0/3)
Tanah Merah MRT -- I alighted here and I think so did 90% of
the bus
** Now here is something interesting to note: the bus had only
13 pax in Alps.. main load came from Xilin.. assume bus not
extended to Alps... yet would have 72 (85-13) pax on board... this
is after enhanced frequency of 11 buses... and there was a bus
every 06-08 mins
** So basically sv 35 needed DDs inspite of Alps extension
** Alps Ave have many shuttle buses, and seems like people still
prefer the shuttle bus, what else could explain such low loading at
Alps(?)
** No wonder so many DDs were deployed all at once!
Surprisingly, SBST did not upgrade SDs to DDs on this service
** Sequence of buses in opposite direction: SD --> SD -->
DD --> SD --> DD --> SD --> DD -->
DD (this is the one I am in) --> DD -->
SD --> SD --> SD (sequence starts repeating
from here!) --> SD --> DD {the back to back DDs are
planned for Xilin Ave crowds from 5.30pm to 6.30pm}
** The circuit from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Alps and back
to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal takes a good 24 minutes. It is quite
far. The stretch parallel to airport is fun as you can see planes
taking off really close.
I believe the reason why 35 did not get DDs in the past is
because of Tanah Merah Coast road which was once narrow and had low
lying trees. At the start of the year when I went there, road
widening work was going on. Now as road widening is completed, 35
can finally receive DDs.
