Instead of deploy DDs on 103 why dont they increase the number of DDs for 70?

Yes I agree 103 is still not in dire need of DDs. 103 peak load comes at Jalan Kayu for Sengkang West residents to Serangoon/YCK Road.. 70 is doing very well... and has 43/43M/103 to supplement it to Serangoon.

The deployment of DDs on sv 70 in AM is quite good. You have all DDs reaching Shenton Way between 08.00 and 09.00am. Before and after is when the SDs are deployed. Similarly, before 17.45 you have all SDs deployed departing from Shenton Way and the DDs start in a straight row right after. The problem is the SDs that depart at 16.45 to 17.45 already reach NEX in PM peak and are not able to tank the load there. This is where 43M comes handy, but those for Seletar Heights, sometimes have issue with boarding. Hence, there are 2 DD downroutes that start from NEX.

Hi mr sbs6750E, yes we know. This is the most direct service connecting sengkang easy way to sengkang west avenue. Most direct and most convenient. Many people took it from Blk 235 to sengkang MRT even though it is just a stop. Many people also take from sengkang Mrt to Blk 317B along sengkang east way, Blk 313 anchorvale Rd stop, anchor green primary school stop and pei Hwa Sec school stop. Cheers.

Hi mr sbs6750E, yes sbs 371 is super popular. It is the most direct to rivervale drive and rivervale crescent. Other than this, there is only the indirect Sbs 86 (1 round) plus LRT. This is one of the shortest and yet most effective bus service launched during BSEP which I think they introduced best. Cheers.

Yes I have observed 371 to be packed to door... observed 5 buses... each took 60+ pax with people left behind in queue... I am actually surprised that when LTA has been generously or rather in some cases even unnecessarily been adding buses to feeders... 371 has still not got fleet add.. i am sure suddenly we will see 2 buses added..

371 will also do well with DDs... people who board 371 mostly alight along Rivervale Crescent, so can go upper deck.. in that case 2 DDs, 2 SDs will be enough.

SMRT 67 double deck is well utilise by commuters.My Auntie whom always travel with 67 from Tampines Ave 5 all the way to CCK estates to visit her sibling even waited for the DDs nowadays compared to single and bendy buses..

On weekdays PM, I feel the sv 67 DD timings are not right. They depart Tampines Interchange back to back at an interval of 07-08 mins from 18.30 to 19.00 hours. So basically by the time it reaches Geylang / Little India, the high loading sector, it is already off peak. Further more, when it reaches Bukit Timah / Upper Bukit Timah, it is already 8pm+

Why not SD -> BD -> SD -> BD -> SD -> DD -> SD -> DD -> SD -> DD -> SD -> BD? Actually, Svc 67 by the time reaches Bukit Timah / Upper Bukit Timah, as it is already 8pm, it becomes off peak. The crowd do stretches out and I hope it does not become svc 190 saga once again. Anyway, DTL Stage 2 is opening on 27 Dec 2015.

Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal -- 01 (-21/0) there were some who wanted to board bus but BC did not allow. They didnt know looks like its going to go to Alps though EDS stated. I was only pax on board.

** Now here is something interesting to note: the bus had only 13 pax in Alps.. main load came from Xilin.. assume bus not extended to Alps... yet would have 72 (85-13) pax on board... this is after enhanced frequency of 11 buses... and there was a bus every 06-08 mins

** So basically sv 35 needed DDs inspite of Alps extension

** Alps Ave have many shuttle buses, and seems like people still prefer the shuttle bus, what else could explain such low loading at Alps(?)

** Sequence of buses in opposite direction: SD --> SD --> DD --> SD --> DD --> SD --> DD --> DD (this is the one I am in) --> DD --> SD --> SD --> SD (sequence starts repeating from here!) --> SD --> DD {the back to back DDs are planned for Xilin Ave crowds from 5.30pm to 6.30pm}

** The circuit from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Alps and back to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal takes a good 24 minutes. It is quite far. The stretch parallel to airport is fun as you can see planes taking off really close.

onboard bus 35 double decker to alps.. would say the demand is good, especially the alps workers.. i still remember long ago 35 before alps (to tanah merah ferry only) use to have non-aircon double decker, and there's olympian aircon bus too but cannot remember the demand if that high..

how bus deploy in your opinion? take example for pm peak from 5'45 to 6'30 pm wih 06 bus depart at 06-08 min frequency.

pattern1 - dd -> sd -> dd -> sd -> dd -> sd

pattern2 - sd -> sd -> dd -> dd -> dd -> sd

The sequence is just a guideline,Traffic condition and other factors you all should take note also..Commuters are unpredictable,Give them 3 DDs from 1720-1734 they sway sway wait for 1741 which is half full single deckers and complains will start coming in

I believe the reason why 35 did not get DDs in the past is because of Tanah Merah Coast road which was once narrow and had low lying trees. At the start of the year when I went there, road widening work was going on. Now as road widening is completed, 35 can finally receive DDs.

Bedok North Ave 2 -- 51 (0/13) BSEP Citaro did pick up pax on this stop but surely had many leftovers!, 64 (-3/16)

** After I alighted in 04 mins, there was 225G WEG that came housefull. Counted # pax alighting = 84 (note there was sv 18 that came in between with around 30 pax on board)

** 2 buses back to back must have carried around 70 + 64 pax = 134 pax. Wow!!
