Hmm I guess for the SMRT services, if they going to introduce DDs, they probably say on FB first like they did for 67/960. I believe 854 and 857 will receive first. 854 probably will have its BSEP slots converted + 1/2 units from SMRT side so that it can be WAB. 857 will probably receive more because this service has no bendys.

For 851, I highly doubt it will receive in first round. But I highly suspect 860 will get if the route is DD-friendly because this service is BSEP. SMRT also only got 40 A24s for now, give too all the feeders also sure not enough to distribute to short trunk.

For SBST, 39 will definitely get soon I think. As for 85, I really dont know. I see this bus only packed during peak periods but its not to the extent of unmanagable. The lodaing does not demand DD. But since SBST has so many spare wrights anyway, its still worth it to deploy to 85.

The entrance and exit for the bus services at Yishun Interchange is confusing to me...Presuming that Entrance A is along Yishun Ctrl and Entrance B is Yishun Ctrl 1 (where only 39 and 85 is mentioned to exit from) in the post here, why do I see bus services such as 851, 854 and 856 plying along Yishun Ctrl 1 after exiting Yishun Temporary Interchange?

Very messy leh the arrangement.

Boarded 811 from outside the Interchange. The bus is already full liao due to the workers boarding the bus to go to Serangoon Road transferring at the Mrt station.(thinking the bus nv go in so alight there and walk back to the interchange).

Prefer 811 towards Ave 1 be next to 860 so that ppl can hv alternative to board to Khatib. The bus stop outside can be use for 812 towards chong pang.

Hahaas. My point is that the foreign workers stay at dormitory near Ave 9. Take 811. Alight at Mrt station. Hahas.

My point is by the time 811 or 811E rigid bus pull over at the bus stop outside the interchange, cannot board. Maybe that's for Sundays ah. I not sure about other days.

My observation is that though they trying to make it like 307 style, I still prefer the bus go into interchange and alight passengers to transfer to their destinations bus services. Like yst, got this foreign worker say want to change bus go Serangoon Road. Ended up alighting at Northpoint bus stop. I think they are used to alighting there.

Hmmm should be next Monday then SMRT and SBS will start deploying DDs for Yishun since March holiday is over and is the beginning of a busy peak hour day.

It really Yishun will start using DD next week then 854 & 857 will start first with at least 4 DDs each..39 might only get 3 split DDs for a start..After several weeks then its 851 turn with 3-5 DDs.Sembawang side dont be suprised if 167 get a couple of DDs

tbh dont think 857 will start so fast as smrt also said by next 3 months. if they could they wld hv alr said next month (in their ST reply last month).

and dd training for 851 854 started much earlier than 857 so 851 854 shld be getting first.. 851 full AM no big deal can anytime trf wl and get non bsep ones

960 and 969 should have enough double decks. Btw, there are reserved E500s for Yishun at WPDEP, maybe around 9 since the newly registered SMB3578R is home to WPDEP. Furthermore, I have been waiting for Yishun to have double deckers for over 7 months until now I am waiting.

I don't think there are enough DDs for Yishun. Look at the number of services that need it. Even BSEP I have a feeling will deploy DDs to Yishun in staged approach. Most April BSEP E500s may get registered for Yishun and that's when you will see bulk of services getting DDs.

But yes, I can imagine. Most Yishun residents and those along routes of 851/854/857 are waiting for DDs for months if not years. 851 will take forever to get DDs looks like! =(

Wait patiently. If 851 is going to get DD, SMRT will need to do administrative issues to transfer some duties over to WLDEP too. As for 854/857, it will happen soon lah but probably in the April round. I believe LTA will try out DD on BSEP 860 as well, lets see how it goes.

Infact 854 atleast has bendys and there are quite a number although there is a need for more high capacity buses. 851 too few bendys already so yeah I guess DDs more urgent here. 857 no high capacity at all except for a few Bendy cameos which have become so rare these days. So really need also. But still patience. I hope 851 and 857 get more of the DDs so that there is more capacity upgrade... 854 can just mix DDs and Bendys for now.
