Are there any bus ply Hu Ching Rd in the past?Thought saw a SBS bus pass by Jurong Town Pri Sch when i was a kid

In the past where w'lands was under KJ control, how many mercz perm did 856 receive?

Also in the past BN buses and HG are they interchangeable?

AMDEP control 856 in the past, not KJDEP. 856 indeed used to have 1st Gen Box Bendys on its fleet, besides 851. TIBS planned to place the sole demo box bendy on 856 but later on it actually place and deployed 171 as the final decision.

BNDEP buses do not interchange with HGDEP buses from what I know.

Yes, that was when Choa Chu Kang Crescent was constructed with the erection of new HDB blocks somehwere in 1999 i think.

Hmm, then I dun really remember whether 856 was KJ/AM controlled or full AMDEP contolled. From what I observe in the past, only scania, ELBO, merc and bendies from AMDEP were deployed on 856. No DAFs. The Woodlands services were from KJDEP.

Service 856 was ever under partial KJDEP before, there were minority of them if I am not wrong. I remember seeing DAFs cameoing on service 856 before in 1997.

TIB856E TIB859Y TIB860S TIB861P TIB862L were initially under KJDEP when newly registered in 1997, all these bendies were transferred over to AMDEP a few months later and deployed to AMDEP 856 perms.

In Oct 1998, the new WLDEP opened. Service 856 eventually became full WLDEP controlled till then. The a/m bendies followed service 856 to WLDEP.

147 was converted to FAC during that period, but if anyone can recall, some of Mercedes-Benz OF1417 (Hawke body) did 147 somewhere in 2000 for a few months before it was phased out. I remember bcos I took it a few times during my school days, one of it I remember clearly was SBS5555J.

There's also some other services which OF1417 did before phasing out, dun really recall the services.

HGDEP seems to control both OF1417s and B57s from what I recall, remember seeing them on Hougang feeders. Eventually all the Hougang feeders switched to NAC Volvo MK2s in 1994-95.

Yah.. but btw sv 59 used to have Merc O405 running when the massive clearence of older B57s/OF1417s buses mostly from AMDEP. However, a small portion of those older models can still be seen on feeders before they eventually replaced by n113s.

To add on that Kent Ridge route group was under JRBP in the past, services 151 (partial JRBP) and 200 operated with Merc 0405 fleets. It was after the major SBS/Tibs swop in 1999 when Kent Ridge bus routes were given to BBDEP.

In Sept 2004 Serangoon route group went under HGDEP, whereas Eunos route group went under BRBP.

bbdep/arbp/hgdep continued the B10M legacy with Mk3s and Mk4s in its place after the Mk2s are gone.

slbp/amdep ones lasted until recently then.... K230!

410 N113s were replaced by NAC O405s then OAC O405s then... K230!
Toa Payoh ones went the same 'rite of passage' less the NAC part.

bndep ones evolved to Mk3s and Mk4s then... K230! bbdep/arbp/hgdep will follow this 'rite of passage' when the time comes.

Yup, forgot to add on that in the past the SBS NAC Merc 0405s were spread around all the depots in the 90s with a small number under BNDEP, HGDEP and ARBP/BBDEP. It was in 2000 when all the NAC 0405s were converted to CAC, the 0405s were all assigned only to AMDEP, BRBP and SLBP.

Well, I was surprised that 62 had NAC Mercs. I thought 62 NAC fleet was DM Mk IIs.

Anyway, was 185 [CCK-Shenton Way (later shortened to Upp Bt Timah Rd)] under JRBP? I thought northwest side all under BBDEP.

What buses did 344 use when BPJ was still SBS territory?
