delon, you forgot the students who use 36 to get from Airport to Marine Parade in the morning because there is no other faster way (PSR and TAM students, me included Mr. Green )

In the morning to noon period, the average number of passengers on 36 can be counted with only 2 hands. The rest of the day, 36 loads are actually excellent (PM peak is the worst, packed like siao)

How about the foreigners who use 36 to get from CGA to city? I believe that unless there are jams along ECP or Marine Parade area, there is still a sizeable portion of them who use 36 to get to the CBD cos it's faster than the MRT.

imo i would do this:

36 + 31 + 111 = Tampines - Ghim Moh
31 + 36 = Toa Payoh - Airport

and then extend some service at marina centre to changi airport via full express on ecp...maybe 77? Mr. Green

36 cannot get DDS nor bendys due in CGA. So I think SBST should improve service 36's frequency by adding more buses to the fleet.

If u din noe, sv36 has short working trips to the city. Although sv36A indicated on the plate says tt it starts at 2300hrs. I have seen many a time sv36A during operating hours especially on Sats, School Hols. In addition , sv36 is known to ret to CGA using Scotts, Steven Rd to get to PIE...
Also sv36 sometimes starts new trip os Meridien after turning left from Cairnhill Rd...

36 can be restored to its former BMR-CGA route, while 16 can operate from UEC and loop at Tomlinson Rd.

Service 36 amd 123 should have merged. This is because service 123 has very low demand and hard to see one on the road. Confused This can benefit more people.

The present route of 123 is quite absurd. Bt Purmei is just a stone's throw away from BMR central and there is Feeder 275. Anyway, HBF MRT is closer to Bt Purmei than TBR MRT, so this estate is better served by HBF routes like 855.

Let Svc 36 start from BMR Int and follow route of 123 towards Orchard Rd. I suggested this to SBST lasat year. In addition, I thought 123 could be amencded to operate from St Mike's and loop at Bt Purmei via Balestier Rd, Lavender St, Beach Rd (Golden Mile), Stamford Rd, Penang Rd and normal route to Bt Purmei. The NEL rationalisation only made Golden Mile area more isolated following the removal of 82 from the CBD.

How about let service 123 starts from Bt Merah interchange, follows ex-service 605 route to Tiong Bahru MRT, then follows current route and loop at Tomlinson Rd? The Bt Merah - Orchard sector via Queensway and Holland Rd can be replaced by another service.

Remember there was a period in 1992/1993 that service 123 started from New Bridge Rd terminal looping at Tomlinson Rd, via Outram Rd, Zion Rd, Havelock Rd, Clemenceau Ave and so on.

how are you going to deal with the missing link from orchard rd/clemenceau/havelock/outram/tiong bahru/bukit purmei? recall that when 605 was withdrawn bukit purmei residents made a considerable amount of fuss. if you withdraw 123 they are going to make even more fuss.

just let things be the way they are.

both services serve different markets and demand sectors along the route. if not why sbst would have 123, a route that looks like a circle?

dont think of the service's starting and end/loop point, think of the in betweens.

but one thing i must say... improve 36's frequency for goodness sake Smile

yes, I dunno how they can run such a long route as 36 with only 14 buses.
