Which bus services need to be withdrawn,Shortened or Reroute

last SG · 2004-06-08T09:15:43+00:00

No, it isn't. 518 goes to Elias Road via Drive 3 before hitting Drive 1 and down to Tampines. It doesn't go by 15's route.

sbst275 SG

FYI Sv 4 will run from Changi Village to Enous or PLAB (Loop)

To withdraw 94 and to create new links from Pasir Ris, Tampines Ave 2/ 7 to Enous Link (Not served by 8, 15)

SBS9845X SG

Shud reinstate 989. TIBS was brainless to withdraw 989.
Extend 55 to Bedok Int
Extend 168 to Pasir Ris
Extend 194, quite useless to ply just one bus stop.
Extend 354, useless too, to ply three bus stops.
Withdraw 401, replace with sv 11. Turn 11 to FAC and ply from Bedok to Marina Centre(loop at the suntec fountain circus)
Deploy DDs on 163
Extend 851 to Woodlands
Shorten sv 852....from Yishun to Bouna Vista

For me, I might take some of your suggestion to improve my services. Let me explain

1) 989 - I have withdrawn 985 and replaced by 986
2) 55 - It is not possible, people at Marine Parade will not be linked to Enous Link
3) 168 - People at Bedok will be affected, but I have plans for Sv 164 (Sembawang - Changi Beach) *May be shelfed off as SBW is very low populated
4) 194 - What abt return (Cross to take the NAC 251, will tourist want?)
5) 354 - Same reasoning but it will be a friday/ weekend/ Sch Holiday Sv from 08/08/2004
6) 401 - No resoning as I want it to serve East Coast
6A) 11 - Extended to Tomilison Rd to form (11 - National Stadium Terminal - Tomilison Rd via Bugis)
6B) I will look into links to Marina from East Coast and Pte Message to you ASAP Very Happy
7) 163 - Demand is quite low compared to Svs like 88, 162
Cool 851 - There will be 955 (WDL to New Bridge Rd Via Orchard) *Direct to Stevens Rd from WDL Ave 3
9) 852 - It is no reasons for that as Bt Batok is too off from Dover

Some will be what SBST will tell u (Oth than the IBS rts)

Svc 55 to Bedok would duplicate svc 25 too much.

svc 168 cannot extend to Pasir Ris, PSR people already got 39 -> 168 or 88 -> 161 combos to get to Woodlands.

svc 194 & 354 link the tourist attractions to the nearest interchange.

No need DDs on 163. Just increase its lousy freq now (peak hrs you can get 2-3 of svcs like 166 or 167 @ Upp Thomson Rd before you get a svc 163).

Woodlands residents have svc 960 to Bugis and a transfer to svc 190 to get to Chinatown. As for the Thomson area, take svc 966 and transfer.

Cannot shorten svc 852, it is mainly a school bus for Bukit Batok, Yishun and Ang Mo Kio students studying at Bukit Timah.

iveco SG

55 can go to Bedok from Marine Parade, can't it?

961 provides a direct link from Woodlands to Chinatown.

sbst275 SG

Very long and not economical as there is already 31, 196 & 197 to Bedok from Marine Parade

iveco SG

But a different area was covered. Also, 197 can be amended to ply Siglap and East Coast Rds with the possible withdrawal of 608 and the dissapearance of CSS.

leeJZ SG

961 ride is damn slow already.

55 still cannot compensate for the loss of 197 between Amber Rd and Still Rd South.

sbst275 SG

There is either 12 or 14 to serve where 608 is from the city area

iveco SG

...Marine Parade Rd, Siglap Rd, East Coast Rd, Upp East Coast Rd, Bedok Sth Ave 1... a la 608

sbst275 SG

Let's make it clearer...

Along 608 rts

To Marine Terrace: 196
To Katong: 10, 12, 14
To Bedok Sth: 12

That will be what SMRTB will tell you when 608 is withdrawn (That was the case of 603)

leeJZ SG

Then I suppose there goes the DDs on 197, Siglap Rd (bet New Upp Changi Rd & Marine Parade Rd) is not suitable for DDs.

iveco SG

197 & 40 will never run parallel to one another. I am referring to the Indon School, nothing more, nothing less. There is only one bus stop on that short stretch.

sbst275 SG

There is 155 and 401*

sbst275 SG

Other routes are like 371 can be gone as there is already 163. The former 163A is today’s 371.m They had wanted to get rid of 371 aft SKLRTE started

Had anyone heard any news about addition of new services (114) in kovan?

sbs&tibs SG

Have meh? Got source?

iveco SG

kovan has an mrt station and two "townlinks", why would it need extra buses?

sbst275 SG

I think it's another service enhancement...
