btw, these places that buses from AMK go are not far west with populated people. Most people go Jurong and yet, they find it hard to reach. 166 goes 1 hr 20 min at least to go Dover. 852 and 74 duplicates from AMK Ave 6 all the way to Bt Timah Rd. No variety of routes to go.

Proves that Tampines has a nearby town to link to the west with more variety of routes and places to go in the West towns.

MRT too crowded. Even other towns have links to Orchard Rd. AMK only got it 2 years ago with 162! 132 not counted as it does not go deep into Orchard area.

Who would take those Bedok services to the west...even the shortest of them 7 32 33 takes at least 1h 15min. 14 takes up to 2h...

If AMK people dont mind transfers...they can go down to Jln TPY and take 985, then transfer 174 / 66 to Boon Lay / Jurong East respectively. Or just take 852 then transfer to 174 / 66 at Bukit Batok.

Those transfers will take at least 1.5 hrs. Blame on the long winded routes in TPY costing 35 mins.
btw, svc 7 only takes 1 hr.

Tampines has no bus route into Orchard Road since 23 was cut short. Unless 111 integrates with 23 or 7 merges with 18.

MRT is another option from Tampines to Orchard Rd, but since this is a Bus Board i think my post is irrevelant.

I live in Tampines so i have a relatively good idea of how accessible are other places from Tampines. I think that the Holland Drive area and the Bukit Merah are the most inaccessible areas if you take bus from Tampines. 65 drops you at Lower Delta and you have to walk to BM central

You are also contradicting freakybuses' earlier statement at AMKians are used to going to places without transferring.

Tampines / Bedok lack fast links to the west. I dont think people would enjoy 70min rides on 7 32 33 at the very least...

Bishan and AMK is right in the center and you can just drop by SBST's megahub at Toa Payoh if you want to go anywhere...TPY is connected to just about everywhere...

btw I think SBST would amend 24 to S'goon Ctrl and chop 22, or shorten it to TAM - MacPherson Estate.

Maybe divert into MacPherson then go CTE to exit as Braddell and go thru Bishan and AMK?

AMK pax have alternative Service 24, then a transfer to Service 8 to get to Ubi / Bedok Reservoir. Or if they want to get to the part of BDK RSVR not served by 8, can walk to Ubi Ave 2 from Paya Lebar Rd to catch 65. The AMK sector of 22 would not likely stay after CCL rationalizations.

If 22 is withdrawn, perhaps SBST could amend 21 to ply Tampines Ave 4 instead of Ave 5/Ave 1.

Dont forget CTE often jams up during peak hours, it would be better to ply Upp Serangoon Rd or Toa Payoh.
