No comments. They can take to Toa Payoh to get to other places.

th1988 SG

It has, check at Tibs e-site

SBS9818A SG

Yes, MRT is faster. For WDL to TPY I'd take Sv. 966, only 18 mins!

th1988 SG

But what ever it is, I want to give SMRT a run for their money.

As for 966, 18 mins can reach TPY from WDL? It take at least 35 mins.

SBS9818A SG

You obviously haven't taken TIB 425R, TIB 972C and others. Maybe you haven't even taken the service AT ALL!

th1988 SG

I take from their timetable

SBS9818A SG

Timetables are not meant to be accurate. They are only a ROUGH estimate.

th1988 SG

I just went to Tibs website, from WDL Int to Trellis Twr takes 42 mins! Obviously the bus is moving more than 60km/hr as the dist is abt 20km

SBS9818A SG

Timetables are NOT meant to be accurate, they are merely a ROUGH estimate.

th1988 SG

Distance is more than 20km and since the bus can only move up to 60km/hr. Obviously the limiter is tampered.

Even if there is timetable, the total jorney time is 65 min. Trellis Twr to MP is 22 mins.

If the timetable is not accurate, tell this to Tibs. Tibs won't believe you as it is a difference of 60% of time.

I mean look at maths, if dist is 21km, then it takes 21 mins. What abt Traffic lights, BS stopping?

Shocked Wahlaoweh!
OkOk,You win,And pls stop the "hu ha hu ha" between the both of you! Twisted Evil

service_238 SG

both of u shut your gap.

what SBS9818A meant i think was that from the moment the bus enters BKE to the time it reaches TPY area, it takes 18 min. From what i can see is that it takes 6-7min to clear Woodlands area. But then again he might be correct because i had experienced once on 966.

Eunos MRT - Jln Toa Payoh = 10min.
The time spent on PIE alone was only 5min!
The traffic conditions on the PIE then was average without any severe jams. Everything was free flowing despite the amount of vehicles on the road.

SBS9818A SG

How do you know the distance? Why on earth are you so concerned with timetables only? THESE THINGS ARE NOT ACCURATE!

SBS9818A SG

Yes, Eunos to Jln TPY can be achieved in 10-15 mins. Looks like our th1988 has never taken Sv. 966 before!

off_service SG

I would like you to try out the route itself. Service 966 NEEDS to clear the Woodlands - Jalan Toa Payoh stretch between 20 - 30 minutes or the bus would be behind schedule.

I believe the estimation given by TIBS are the maximum when there is heavy vehicular flow. For example, the defunct service 989 was estimated to arrive at Changi Airport from Choa Chu Kang for 126 mins, when actually it only needs around 90 minutes.

Try out before making your comments. That's my best advise.

th1988 SG

Ok, anyway

It is impossible to cover 20km in 18 mins.

I checked the road map, dist from WDL Int to Trellis Twr is 20km.

As your tell me that the timetable is inaccurate, I can tell you this, the drivers are supposed to tell their heads abt the inaccurate timetable.

service_238 SG

Not say i wanna say ah… Even 238 drivers drive ahead of schedule. The timesheet says 27min per trip but they only take 22-24 min!

SBS9818A SG

You must have failed maths. To cover 20km in 18 mins is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE. You never learn or let anything get into your head, don't you?

service_238 SG

Let's have a math lesson here..

20km in 18min means the average speed is 66.667 km/h

20km in 30min means the average speed is 40.000 km/h

20km in 42min means the average speed is 28.571 km/h!

Do u think a TIBS bus would be CRAWLING on the BKE and PIE?

SBS9818A SG

Apparently th1988 thinks the last point is the case. Interesting that TIB972C was going at 29km/h but made it from WRI to Trellis in 18 mins!

th1988 SG

So they tampered the speed limiter, or the bus does not have speed limter at all.

The average speed is 67 km/hr. But what is the most bus can move with speed limiter?
