I'm looking for a desktop, not a laptop.

I'm also looking for good on-site service because remember where I live? Remember I don't drive? I can't exactly hop into a taxi and bring my desktop to the service centres over there. Razz

Wah, your proposed pc packs a punch!

Maybe what I might add is another DVD-ROM (not burner) just purely for playing DVDs and leave your burner solely for burning DVDs. But it may just be unnecessarily excessive.

Would adding more RAM (memory) give a little more processing speed?

ATM, I'm still toying with the idea of fixing my PC up to record TV programs cause I love the current affairs shows there but can't get to watch them sometimes cause of my shifts. I was advised that if that's the case, I'll definitely need more HDD space.

BTW, I might end up saving a bit more to afford all the add-on's. Razz Laughing

An Apple is good, but not omnipotent.

Be patient ... not everyone is so PC saavy. You kept talking about dual, I kept saying I don't need two different OS, reason being, it didn't occur to me that you were talking about getting an iMac duo so that I can run it like a generic non-Apple PC mah.

okay, cult leader.. whatever it is, that A$3,000 is insane to pay for something like that..

with that amount, you can build the damned thing, have a 19" monitor, freight the whole damned thing over there and still have enough change left over for a desk

i do.. i was there..

and i'm talking about building it at SLS and then freighting it there..

anyway, for that kind of money, seriously think about the Apple because it's about the same price.. and the footprint is a lot smaller... it's basically an LCD monitor and a keyboard/mouse...

thing about OSX is that you don't really need a lot of things.. which you will end up buying because you have to.. like anti-virus and all that..

Surprise... NO shipping firm in Singapore wants to ship stuff that are personal effects over to Melbourne! Shocked Reason being, too much paperwork, customs will charge extra, and then they might decide to quarantine, fumigate, what-not, adding even more charges. Rolling Eyes Then they slap a GST on you and maybe, Import Duty, to be paid as a %age of the value of the imported goods.

Plus, they'll probably throw your carton about. I don't even think it will reach me in one piece! Laughing And then when it arrives and something happens to the parts... any international warranty?
