the Bear SG let's see.. when i was in uni, the grocery list was usually... 2 slabs of beer, chips, chocolate, some pies, some minced meat, taco shells or instant noodles, a jar of tomyam paste, and way too much lollies okay okay.. maybe 3 slabs of beer
littlestream SG Sounds like some Italians we know. The kitchen on the main floor is like for display. Model or showroom quality. They have another kitchen in the basement.........for cooking!!!!
the Bear SG pointless to have a kitchen like that.. things MUST be used... especially kitchens.. i wonder.. one of my colleagues has a beautiful and fully equipped kitchen... neither she nor her husband can cook to save their lives

Rhonda SG Used to buy from Cole's but felt the meat there looked 'dodgy' and there were times when they looked downright past the expiry date! Then, when the current affairs show on Channel 7, Today Tonight, ran an expose on the foul practices of supermarts like Cole's, who would pump in some sorta gas before they film wrap the packs of meat to kinda preserve them, it totally put me off buying any kinda meat from Cole's. So, now I purchase chicken meat from the poultry seller and my beef and lamb from the butcher's and they are both just outside Cole's too! I cannot go near those minimarts in Victoria Street who sell meat because the meat section there just smells downright foul!
shinta SG oh... my theory: nobody shop the "guys" way everyone shop the "gals" way... just different kida stuff for different ppl unless someone can honestly say its a grab n go for EVERYthing they buy.
viciouskitty74 SG Was just chatting with my sister here in the USA. And found out this: the reason why pork smells so bad in USA is because the butchers dont drain the blood away from the meat. Says it means the meat has more iron this way. Asians, chinese or asia, we drain the blood off the pork before selling them. Or sold to us. Wheres Western countries dont. Much like we dont eat bloodied pork steak but we are adapted to the western medium rare steak ozzing blood. Something else to mention. Singapore no longer allow sale of Pork Blood Curds. We Singaporeans has to go Malaysia to eat that nowadays. And some of us strangely....dont have cravings for it back in Singapore then, now does.
